after the suffering

opposite
of you
dying peace
worth more pain and sacrifice
unlearning how i was
fighting the illusion
of meaning
devout, submission
to the selfish
leaves
i have loved

And the Cross

And the Cross
Crying in the cruel wind
And they didn’t care
While the Truth
Waited
Silent
For the third day.

Wesley's Words Inspired This 20220408

I
Why not love God, rather than people, too: the love of Creatures is the way to The Creator

II

Good Friday

GOOD FRIDAY

We all call it Good Friday
It was really good for the sinner
Death won round one
But on Sunday, we crown the winner

Desperate prayer from a suffering husband

His wife sang so bad, he prayed god to make him deaf,
He said “oh God, or let her elope with my chef,
if she goes i will be so glad,
the chef cooks good shall miss him bad,
forgive! if I pray with words beginning with F!

Good Friday

The
Day
When the
Almighty
Lord perished in the
Cross to redeem humanity
Washing with his blood the sins committed by nescience
Proferring eternal life to whoever believe in him as personal savior

An Easter Haiku

I

Good Friday dark dawn;
Jesus said: "I AM he",
Sad world all fall down.

II

Easter Morn bright dawn;
Burning bush I AM said,
"Let my people go!"

III

In the desert bare;
Empty tomb, garden now bloom,
Tears all wiped away.

Sleepyhead

Sometimes, I've tried lectio divino for the hour before bed
but at this time, or my 1st hour, I may be groggy of head!

So I try to opt for a daytime slot when I feel my awake-est
like 3pm the Hour of Mercy, when He felt most forsake-est!

If

If betraying Jesus, Judas had hope!
If Peter dared to avoid Judas-rope!
If Rome and Judah ever knew Jesus!
If all loved him for no selfish wishes!
If Good Friday a day that's very good!
If Risen Lord before each of us stood!

A Bad Friday For Jesus

What humans call ‘Good Friday’
Should be named
A ‘Bad Friday‘ for Jesus
Our brother
Who bravely died for our sins.

Fp 1 That Day of Days

once
   on Good Friday
they looked
       upon love,
at first
          silence
a silence
        so black
        so dense,
then the sound..
a gentle
          wind-
after ..
  comes the dawn

Hamlet Hero

He born in a hamlet
 He became favorite
 He healed leper(s)
 He is said helper
 He shed blood
 For the sinfully dead
When they saw HE star they celebrated CHRISTMAS
When HE was crucified we commemorated GOOD FRIDAY
When they saw empty tomb the world celebrate EASTER

Sacrifice and Religion

A given Religion,

Does not depend on the number of people that believe in it

But

On the number of people willing to sacrifice their lives for it!

Two Sons

Good Friday: At age thirty three
You suffered and died just for me

April 9th, year 2001
You joined Him at age twenty-one

*Inspired by a wise and comforting letter sent by a lifelong friend in April, 2001 who gently reminded us the time of year it was...I still have the letter

The Day Between Good Friday and Easter 1989

I wrote about rain
In Tacoma early on
Sitting in a kitchen
Watching the street below.

Yet today I'm very far South
And it's a different rain
This one is filled with many thoughts
Made of many types.

Drizzling and misting
Hard and straight
Only one sunny break
Easter prelude weather.
