Talking Turkey
Earth glows in the dark like a bauble
Though sometimes its orbit will wobble
In Glasgow they came
To allocate blame
Knowing Scotch can make eagles gobble!...

Home of the Call
Dawn freshens her climb is done
Scotland she becomes gentle snow but falls
Glasgow once more
Streets of beautiful calls
Home of love once more
Scotland forever more....

Trick Trivia
Trick Trivia is not my greatest force,
so it is time I think we should divorce.
The questionaire wants to know,
what’s in the middle of Glasgow -
then states - the answer is an ‘S’ of course....

The Glasgow One Is Best
kisses are polymorphic
for one can seal a friendship
or give loves birth
given as a cold goodbye
or a token of hope given
some biblically betray
some drag life back
but my favourite
is local born...

Him
Think of the rainbow, when you're missing him
Picture the brightness of colour against the grey Glasgow sky,
And hold your head up as you fight back the tears,
Look to the colours ahead
and don't cry...

Greta's Glasgow Gripe
I wanted to traipse in the desert
But sand dunes were in the way
I went to ski in the mountains
But snow blocked the pass that day

It seems Mother Earth has a game
That she really loves to play
Forget about YOUR calendar
To Mother Earth, today is PAY DAY!...

The Road Home From Glasgow Airport
The road home from Glasgow airport
Tyres in front crying on my windscreen
Combine with the pain from the dark clouds
That blanket the horizon
Make a misty view.

Hard to see
The wipers cannae keep up.

A difficult road to drive
Many lanes to cross
Many emotions to deal with.

Getting closer to home.
Less tyre spray
Clouds breaking up.

I'll see him again....

Premium Member Honoring Susan Boyle
Just saw Susan Boyle again
I know that her kin
Must be feeling awfully proud
That this lass pleased the crowd

She's the one with the voice
Celebrated by many she their choice
A lass from Scotland in her fourties
Had some more sass this lass from Glasgow

Hope she wins another round
For when she opens her mouth
The crowd is astound
Of the voice that does abound...

Summer Moon Over Glasgow
Summer moon over Glasgow
Driving down the M8
20 degrees shows on the dashboard
Who cares if I get home late.

The ball of orange hangs in the sky
Looks bigger this time of night
Hovers above the Glesga high rise
And reflects in the River Clyde.

Though the moon begins to rise
The canvassed sky is still bright
The painted picture shows how God smiles
At half ten in the summer night....

Fiver
Echoes

off tenement windows,

sound mixed

with fluttering glimpses

of fake hanging ghosts.

Perhaps

we’re only just

remembering, or

noticing how much

we usually forget.

For a fiver I can get

some rides on the outer

or inner, more

tenement windows,

more music.

I take a puff

outside Partick

station, then go about

my business

with a grin....

Whatever Happened To Whitley Bay
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO WHITLEY BAY ?

Promenade without shelter
Glasgow accents on wet afternoons
Spanish City helter skelter
Candy floss and balloons

Hissing over the empty shore
Each lone beach grain
Children’s spades are no more
Now at work in Spain

14 October 2019

NOTE Like almost every English seaside resort,
Whitley Bay is today an empty shell, once filled with life....

This is an interesting question
 born in city of Glasgow
moved at 6 weeks to Ayrshire
then 1990 to Renfrew I go

 So where is my home?
 being brought up in Ayrshire
 my formative years are there
so memories are ever on fire

 Now based in Renfrew
 a small quiet town
 once home to a airport
 now no planes come down

 So Scotland is my nation
born and brought up in this land
here the covenanters braved the foe
 till death they did stand

The Lost Master Piece
A beloved building turn to ashes.
Priceless artwork swallowed by fire.
Watching the fire move from room to room.

Feeling My heart drop like stone in the ocean.
The smell of smoke travels up the street.
People moved from their houses.

Standing in the street watching the once great
Glasgow school of art burn.
Now all that remains is a burn empty shell.

Everything lost nothing saved hoping it can be fixed.
Not holding my breath.
A master piece gone in seconds never to be rebuilt....
