Singing stars soaring in the sages' skies,
Glorious gifts gesticulating in their gentle girdles
Courteous colours courting in christmas' crest.

It seems to me like Life girdles
the day
And leaves to mocking scorn, the
sullen night.
But found I that upon the dreams
I lay,
Therein lies our nature in form of
blithe.

A guy wore a dress for all to see
On TV, he was called Dorothy
To his pals he was Mike
Girdles he disliked
On set, he would sit down to pee.

Do you remember this?
Suspenders for a teenage miss,
Real boa constrictors,
Our hip inhibitors,
Teen boy deterrents,
That's what they meant,
Elastic girdles vanished too,
I remember suspenders, do you?

Many years ago,
girls wore girdles.
The tight uncomfortable things,
they held one in tight.
One summer's night,
I snuck my girlfriend out.
We were off on a double date,
a night of fun and laughs.
Her date found her girdle,
the unsupervised stop sign.

Crumpled dreams collapse
In debris of failed life
Pole star shines in sky of despair
A new journey begins
Searching for divine grace within
Euphoric rainbow arc girdles the soul.

Poetry, throw-a-three
Dactyls for you and me
Six silly bulls, I see
All in a field!
Myrtle McWhirtley
This is the life for me
No silly names, I see
Less junk to wield.
Dactylly Practical
Superfantastical
Equally Whimsical
More Flexibly
So dactyls or whirtles?
Just tighten your girdles
Throw down some poetry
Effortlessly!

A museum exhibit
Showed 200 years
Of clothing for women
In varied careers.
It also had items
To wear in the home –
The aprons and housecoats
Not oft in a poem.
The garters and girdles
Made us reminisce
About underwear parts
Not one woman would miss.
Certain styles have evolved
While some retro ones last,
But I’m happy some things
Have remained in the past.

My favorite pastime?
What about yours?
Danger is my dalliance!
Conformity? No way!
Feels as a heavy cape.
Just be you, is all I ask!
Be true, hardly, an easy task,
Rules are for ghouls!
Stop wearing spiritual girdles!
Like old Aunt Myrtle,
Let's get naked by the stream.
And samba liked fishes in wanton, aqua dreams!

Free verse
The days on earth wear thin
Like my hair
And where girdles pull in a
Sagging mass
And memory is washed by a
Lunar pull-
Like the tide that washes over
Footprints in the sand
Soon memories are gone
like a dying star grows dim
And I return recycled to
The worms
But my heart knows a better
Place-
Where reserved for me
I know so well-
I will glow in -The eternal day
That is- my permanent home
