Miracles
Strange things happen, get used to it.
Often statistically odd.
But explained by mathematics
without any need for a god....

Life is not fair, get used to it
It'll go on, no comment, you'll fit

See our parents live, how they stick
Here's the world of illusion, only commit.

"reality Bites"
It's too f--ken bad
That you're always so sad.

Must today be a fad-
to constantly be mad?!?

Wish you would get a grip-
and get used to it...

You're Living In-
LIFES REALITY TRIP!

(does it feel like your being had?)

Some Days
Some days I can’t stand it
And it’s so bad I can’t speak
For it’s hard to fathom the cards
The deal seems to be the same
No matter what I do
For the cards will fall with no aces for me
Until I get used to it again
And I go on for another day.

Trump
Trump sounds like a poker term
President Trump sounds like a joke
But we'll get used to it
Trump, who'd ever believe
He'd be president?
POTUS Trump,
Sounds good, eh?
Despite all they say,
Despite all the controversy,
I believe in him,
He'll do good for the USA
And the world!...

Premium Member Magpie Melody
A magpie sat on the branch watching me.
That was okay, no big deal, I thought.
His chattering started at a quarter to three.
By midnight headphones is what I sought.

By three a.m. my husband was looking for his gun.
I had given it away years ago to my Uncle’s son.
I said it’s not so bad, truly, we can get used to it dear.
But that magpie’s chattering is killing my ear!...

Premium Member Bite Me
Be sure, I'm aware of your critical eye, why should I care?
I don't have to look like you do, because you can't compare.
There is such a thing as individual expression, so don't stare.
Even if it "ruffles your feathers", I don't really care!

Maybe you should loosen up, borrow some of my flair.
Everyone will just have to get used to it, so BITE ME, there!

Love Stories
It's a bloody mess,
murder most kind,
the kind that does not kill.
Desires clawed within rib cages
or delved into tender marrows.

You get used to it, want it,
it keeps you alive
the way some poisonous medicine will.

Some love poetry
becomes the aromatic attar
of a perfect rose,
while others end in greasy stains
over wilting ego’s,

from a thousand miles away
both are worth it....

Some Memory Lanes From My Friends
I thank my friends for everything
I cheers to life, to demonstrations
To flights, to chess game plays
To city neon lights at the seaport
To ceviche and mangoes in my youth
To everyday life writing poetry
To sunset viewing and appreciation
To support, to love, and be loved
I'm afraid to delete your phone number
When I really get used to it calling you
But for now I just fly down memory lane....

Changing Weather (Get Used To It) Miracle Man January 2024 Today begins with the sky smooth gray, and a morning mist appears here to stay. A precursor for days that soon will come, those house bound days engulfed in glum. If the sun comes later it will be surprising, My outdoor plans will likely need revising. The visual I have is of a north wind biting, maybe I’ll do more weather induced writing,

Aquarium Door
i put a door on my aquarium
so the fish could come and go as they please
although the idea might be scaring them
it's not like i made it screened

if they just barely open it
that will help to stem the flow
i know the goldfish are all hoping that
the guppies don't treat it like a swinging door

i'm sure they'll get used to it in time
as we all do things in life
and when they do they'll come to realize
above all else my genius mind...

I
I have made up my mind,
today from now on, my life is mine.
No more will I listen to critical remarks,
my ears will go deaf when you start.
I will not be defensive for the things you don't like,
if you don't like it, well, just take a hike.
I will not be trapped in this house you call home,
anyway, get used to it, soon you will live here alone.
That big old world is calling my name,
and buddy, things around here will never be the same....

A Letter In Your Shoes
What did you expect
For me to do?
When you turn to me
And say "I love you."
After all the pain
And all those lies
After you hurt me so badly
And all the times that I've cried.
Look. I'll never go back.
I've found someone new.
Someone strong and independent.
Someone caring and true.
I loved you at one point.
But those times are gone.
You've changed, I've changed.
It's time to move on.
Our time is over.
Get used to it hun,
You had your chance.
We're done....

The Prize
I worked on an old oil rig
In red Oklahoma mud
Throwing chains and working hard
Sore muscles with sweat and blood

Forty eight inch pipe wrenches
Will sure tire your arms a bit
If you want to eat and live
You have to get used to it

When working 12 hours a night
It's likely to wear you down
One day when I got off work
I happened to look towards town

Treetops peeked above thick fog
A rainbow against the sun
That sight I'll never forget
A prize for a job well done...

World of Blue Why Are You
WHEN THE WORLD IS BLUE WHY ARE YOU WHEN THE WORLD SEEM GRAY WHY IS YOU. WHEN YOU KEEP ME UNHAPPY WHY ARE YOU. WHEN I SAY GO AWAY YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY I DON’T CARE YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND I DON’T CARE. WHEN TIME COME I DON’T HAVE TO BE AROUND YOU AND THAT TIME HAVE CAME SO GET USED TO IT AND IF YOU CANT TAKE WHAT I SAY DON’T LISTEN. THEN YOUR FEEL BUT BE HURT YOU SEE HOW I AM HURTING IN SIDE. THIS MADE ME A VERY UNHAPPY PERSON IN SIDE. SO WHAT PART OF THIS YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND?...
