Premium Member Thirsty Johnny

Johnny sat bored at a swimming parade,
became thirsty watching the retrograde.
Dipped his head in the pool.
but felt like such a fool.
Silly boy thought it was blue Gatorade!

Brackets
follow the bouncing ball
slapped around by the tall

through the hoop it will go
never a one man show

up and down the court
drank Gatorade by quart

March Madness is here
loud cheers soon I'll hear...

Premium Member All the Sheep Did So I Did Too
All the sheep wore glasses, so I did too.
All the sheep drank Gatorade, so I did too.
Even though I hate Gatorade.

All the sheep made fun of the pandemic.
So I did too
Even though I fear the pandemic’s wrath.

All the sheep slept in military tents.
So I did too.
Until they realized I am no longer in the military....

Home Sick With My Grandson
Lots of reading, dot to dots,
Gatorade and soup;
Writing lots of lists, at which
I’m not allowed to snoop.

Fruit and snacks with music on,
Mini screen-time break;
Singing made-up songs so there
Is never a mistake.

Energy I didn’t think
A sick day would include,
But what a joy to spend the day
With this delicious dude!...

Care Package
A stomach virus laid me out,
My husband down as well
And then we were surprised to hear
Somebody ring the bell.

Two bags delivered to our door
With Gatorade and soup,
Saltines and even Alka-Seltzer,
Quite a sickbed group.

Our son arranged to save the day
With Amazon – the Prime –
To help recuperation
And give fodder for my rhyme!...

Sheep Will Be Sheep
following the flock
staying in line
most of the time

until their
death bell chimes
and the butcher
comes from behind

and plunges the knife
to end their life
as they knew it

They say that the truth
will set you free

but most people
wouldn’t see it
if you hit them on
the forehead with it

swallowing the Kool-aid
because they were
told it’s orange
Gatorade

They’d rather take
lies as truth
and walk blindly
into the sword
of injustice...
