Sheep Will Be Sheep

following the flock
staying in line
most of the time

until their
death bell chimes
and the butcher
comes from behind

and plunges the knife
to end their life
as they knew it

They say that the truth
will set you free

but most people
wouldn’t see it
if you hit them on
the forehead with it

swallowing the Kool-aid
because they were
told it’s orange
Gatorade

They’d rather take
lies as truth
and walk blindly
into the sword
of injustice

- Contrary to popular belief, sheep are extremely intelligent animals... perhaps smarter than humans... "They’d rather take lies as truth and walk blindly into the sword of injustice", Jerry :) - hugs
