Beasts who walk upright 
More cruel than their four footed companions
We kill for ridiculous reasons
They only kill for food

Beasts we are, we humans
And arrogant
Many believing we are superior to others
Some professing to be queens and kings, possibly gods

The four footed ones are humble, 
loving, giving, they have compassion
Their empathy should shame us all
But we are too arrogant to notice....

Mary in labor was led to a door
The man inside took pity on the young couple
Allowed them to stay in his stable
Where animals kept watch

Four-footed, hooved, and horned,
They understood that magic was afoot
Joseph was grateful for the place to stay
