Booth (Final Curtain)

Booth. How you hated the Union.
The end of suffrage you so despised.
One in the brain of the great orator.
Death in the theatre.
Sic Semper Tyrannis.

Life
Is a caricature of death
It shows its jagged jaws
While offering a sweet embrace
It is the bliss between light and dark
Before the final curtain call

Premium Member Final Curtain Call

My ink is running dry
and I want to cry.

My muse isn't well
only time can tell.

It is on life support
all plans must abort.

Rest Easy, Captain

“Rest Easy, Captain”

Christopher Plummer, Captain, friend
You’ve heard the final curtain call.
Gracefully, fade to black, the end
Rest easy ‘neath your burial pall.

Curtains

There’s always a beginning
There will always be an end
But what happens in the middle
Is a mystery, my friend
For most of us will never know
What lies ahead for certain
We’ll only know it’s over, when
We face the final curtain

A Short Story

surprised target
without you
perhaps on the desolate streets
my dreams buried in the dark

not selected stalemate in the dead-end streets
who is killer

unquestionable secrams
befor the final curtain
this is not the worst

foreign stays to hearts

Premium Member Scars

Scars
and Sun,
with their mark
a gruesome glow.
You can taste that edge,
as the knife stabs your throat.
Cut pumpkins swallow the Sun,
now this final curtain is warmed.
Ostentatious heat clings, darkness waits
for that first bittersweet taste of autumn.

Zidane's Antics

Ferociously fought Footballer's in Fray
French storm did Italians fend off fairly
Materazzi muttered malicious mouthful
Zinedan Zidane zealous - headbutt was calous
Chest of foe concave became
Fell to pitch - victim o' Zidane
Red card issued - final curtain
Frenchies lose - Zidane for certain

Theater

the curtain up
the stage is set
the paint still wet
on props
orchestra tunes
starting soon
excitement in my heart
a tragedy, a comedy
a script of drama and love
lines rehearsed
totally immersed
a "Tony" award for sure
final curtain call
still enthralled
as you play
for an audience
of two

Zidane's Follies

Ferociously fought Footballer's in Fray on Field,
Italian storm did French fend off fairly for a time;
Materazzi muttered malicious mouthful,
Zinedan Zidane zealous; headbutt callous
Chest of foe concave became
Fell to pitch, 'nother victim o' Zidane
Red card issued, final curtain
Frenchies lose, Zidane for certain.

In the End

What will my final years bring I wonder
Will I set here and stare at the blank walls
Reliving days of my youthful glory
While waiting for my final curtain call
Or rush to the fray with all my fury
To fight for every breath and take it all
Chisel my own epitaph on my stone
“A life well lived, he did not die alone”

The Misuse of Twinkle In An Eye

A verse in the bible says we will all change at the ending in a twinkle of an eye,
But this verse means converting from flesh to spirit to meet The Lord in the sky,
It does not mean carrying on with sin, betrayal, and lies until the final curtain call,
That is not what that verse stipulates or means in any way or shape at all.

As the lowering sun
Keeps the earth's
Night at bay
They say
Make hay
Whilst the
Sunshines.
As the sun
Disappears
It displays arrays
Orchestrating
Colorful sprays
Magnificently
Closing the day...
The stage is set for
Final curtain calls
The credits roll,
We breath in
Exhaling praises to
The Supreme Director!

blackened sun, miniaturized pencil-point, glued
to an expanse where pillow-clouds once lay in repose
caftaned, toothless droids on broomsticks whiz by, cackling

anvil-hot, clay-red rains scald cracked turf, vapor rising up
where phantasmagoric ice-pellet fireworks burst in the night

~ darkness and death descend -- the final curtain

Premium Member Like a Desert Pharaoh

In a little café down by the bay
He sipped his coffee and looked around

The water fetid, a sickly green
In nearby woods, few trees seen

Nary a creature grazed in the parched meadow
Red sun blazed like a desert Pharaoh

Of a sudden, rains came, hot sands steaming
The final curtain ~ or was he dreaming

Premium Member The World Will End

I think the world will end in dead of night
All of a sudden, I am reasonably certain
And the picture will not be a pretty sight
I think the world will end in dead of night.
A meteor slams earth with nuclear might
As time draws down with the final curtain
I think the world will end in dead of night
All of a sudden, I am reasonably certain.

Premium Member The Curtain Call

death is the final curtain
for a drama done
opening with birth and
going through
several acts of life

take your bows now
for only your stand-ins
will be at the curtain call
and you will not be there
to read the reviews

so write your reviews now
and play them in each role
and each act with skill
for only the play
will appear the final fact.

Premium Member FALLEN ACTOR

Dramatic pause
Stage diminished
Alcohol influence
Living on the streets
Nickel and Dimes survival
Actor being once a striving Actor
Contract revoked
His final curtain pulled down
Had big dreams
Wanted to be in the movie streams
No Movie Star
No longer owns a car
Could have gone far
Inspiration being just a word
Closed door
Fallen to Alcohol
Stage presence forgotten.

Love Letter From God

Creation how I love thee
I have spread out the heavens for thee
From time immemorial I have waited
To share this banquet with thee
My Bride when will thou ready be
Are your garments not sewn with fine embroidery
My angels are waiting with palm leaves and incense
To greet thee , the ones made holy with my heavenly grace
In a short while and we will be One, when this final curtain falls.

Celestial Sensations

sun bids her farewell
with a final curtain call
reds and mauves to thrill

venus then twinkles
with diamonds full of love
sprinkled from above

moon crescent in view
luna love forevermore
takes my breath away

Premium Member If For Some Reason

If for some reason

You never saw another sunrise
Did you live your life to the full

If for some reason

This was the last chapter of your life
Did you find love in a world of darkness

If for some reason

This was the final curtain
Did you accept the hand you were dealt

If for some reason

You heard the angels singing
Did you embrace the light while on earth

Premium Member Final Curtain

I will soon forget
the laughter that I could give
when life felt so right
When the last curtain does fall
there will not be an encore

I stand on my mark
Dust motes float in the spot light
I curtsy left, right
There is no applause to hear
No one to see the last act

The seats are empty
The isles are not crowded
The doors are boarded
All that is left on this night
Is the final toast farewell

Final Curtain

In the end
we die alone

In the end
no blade to hone

In the end
do Angel’s call

In the end
when rhythm stalls

In the end
which deck unstacks

In the end
our health attacked

In the end
we pray for more

In the end
but fate endures

In the end
one final change

In the end
whose face remains

In the end
the bonds break free

In the end
— one last decree
