The World Will End

I think the world will end in dead of night
All of a sudden, I am reasonably certain
And the picture will not be a pretty sight
I think the world will end in dead of night.
A meteor slams earth with nuclear might
As time draws down with the final curtain
I think the world will end in dead of night
All of a sudden, I am reasonably certain.

Great triolet; I agree this might be the best way to go, when we are all sleeping.

This has super flow with gentle rhyme that add to impact with each use. You have aced the triolet! Be well!

did I see somewhere you had not written triolet before? well, you sure are doing a fine job here. frankly, I hope it does end VERY suddenly because I could not stand living in the aftermath of disaster!!

Me neither. I discovered the form reading a poem by Emile Pinet and decided to give it a try. I like it about as much as I like pantoums and villanelles. Thanks so much, Andrea. Compliments from you mean so much to me.

I just hope I'm asleep when it happens, they say a large one wiped out the dinosaurs. Tom

Anything is possible--we are hanging out in space over which we have little control. Intriguing and scary prediction, Milton. Excellent write--expertly executed triolet.

Thanks, Vijay. Let's just hope no astroid has our name on it.

Quite good writing Milton, even though it's dark. I think the world will end, which will be highly distressing to witness; I hope IT will already pass me at that moment.

Me hopeful, too. I guess I'd prefer the world to end while I am sleeping. Actually, I don't think the world will end in my time. Leaving that to the next generation! Thanks for your thoughtful comment.
