Choka #4
Be an elitist!
Let the poor fend for themselves!
They do not matter!
So, be dishonest!
Cheat them out of their money,
Since they deserve it....

I won’t shop Black Friday
because I’m not ready
to fend for my life
in a scene rough and heady.

So call me a coward!
You won’t see me fight ‘em,
and risk getting maimed
for a much-desired item.

Alone
All by yourself with no one else to quiet all the silence.
Left to fend for answer's all alone up on the fence.
Only you to see the truth with eye's so full of tears.
Nobody there to show they care to help you through the years.
Everlasting emptiness with no one there sweet to caress....

In the backyard seen
A black squirrel running
The blackbird chasing
A small black squirrel
The blackbird hungry

It is trying to steal
Some of the eggs laid
Blackbird is on guard
Protecting the eggs
The nest on the fur trees

The squirrel no longer
Are fed the peanuts
Now that it is Spring
They must fend for themselves...

Daddy you chose her over me

Why, Daddy, Why?

Don't you love me?

Daddy you treat her kids like yours

Daddy why don't you love me?

I love you daddy

Daddy why dont you love me

Did i bring you shame

Working Gal
The high-class Prostitute life
Her life full of secrets and lies
Untruths and betrayals are rife
But this life she vehemently denies

Her daughter, left to fend for herself
No choice but to grow up quick
Her needs shoved to the back of a shelf
Forgotten as the dust layers grow thick.

Out of Our Life
I wish you would leave,
Just walk out that door.
You poison the air we breathe.
You make us weep on the floor.

Do you really care like he does?

You push and shove us,
‘Till we fall to the floor.
You cause such a fuss,
Just walk out that door.

Can you fend for yourself?

Don’t you look to that floor.
Was this the time of your life?
Just walk out that door,
And I’ll lend you my knife....

Fallen
Harmless intentions
Dishonorable outcomes
Soil the innocent
With impure impulses

Intoxicated youth
Pressured peers of habit
Follow the crowds
Of shallow jugdements

Sadistic personalities
Clouding the minds
With wastful thoughts
Of dreamless nothings

Unappreciative fools
Fallen into consequences
Blinded by substance
Ungreatful effects spread

Bittersweet regrets
Disguarded mistakes
Intangled senses
Of damaged souls
Left to fend for themselves...

Empty Handed
Stranded in a dream
Unraveling at the seams
Chasing never ending screams
Followed by hollowed empty trees

Swaying in the wind
Searching for something I'll never find
Blind
Afraid to fend for myself

Journeying across the face of humanity
I sit in wonder
Trying to understand my own humanity
Insanity soon surrenders

Forgiveness bellows in my ears
I've seen my fallacy
Left to fend for myself
I hate to be alone

With no one here to take my hand......

And It Goes
And it goes on
Mass murdering of the innocent
Gentrification of the minorities
And it goes on
Life is not a perfect story,
Happy endings are quite scarce
The elders worry about the youth
The youth is left to fend for themselves
And it goes on
Racial slurs directed toward the indifferent
Rebellious souls attempt to strike back
The barriers remain between common people
Always together, but forever separated
And it goes on.........

Race Focused Groups
Why does Congress still have a Black Caucus?
Do we still need the N.A.A. C. P.?
Congress says we are all equal
The law says that everyone’s free
We would never allow a White Caucus
Although white is a minority
They can’t pursue unequal advancements
Though discrimination there be
So let’s drop these race focused groupings
Let’s put race issues back on the shelf
Let’s act like we really are equals
And let everyone fend for themselves!

The Raggedy Man
The longing to go back,
Back to another time
Another place
I’m aging, and he doesn't care
A different crime
He can run
He can hide
He can he can soar
He can fly
Away in the
Blue box
I don’t have one
I don’t have a police box
I’m all alone
I’m stuck here watching every dawn
I’m stuck here like mom
He won’t take me away
Because he left us you see
Alone to fend for ourselves
And I hate him for it
But at the same time I love him
My mom’s raggedy man....

Wildflowers
Dy David J Walker

Some seedlings are carefully cultivated
And properly nourished by those with
Training and Credentials
While others are carelessly
Tossed to barren ground
Where little moisture is found
In the fallow earth
Left in the wind to fend for themselves

The wildflowers that survive
Are often the strongest
lasting the longest in
longer seasons
And for those reasons
Are sought after for their
Beauty untouched...

When You Realize
When you realize
That the world will always turn on you
Will you then learn to fend for yourself

When you realize
There is no love for you
Will you then give away your life

When you realize
That you will always get hurt
Will you then forget to care

When you realize
Nothing is worth the pain or money
Will you give up?

When you realize
Your life was never lived
Will you then die with regret

When you realize
You never gave
Will you give your all till the end?...

Where have you gone?
My friend of many moons
They have taken you away!

How could they?

I cannot live without your presence
My heart, oh how it aches!
Oh, my mind, overworked in worry!

For where has my knight in shining armor gone?

In troubles, you save me
How am I to save you?
For I cannot fend for myself!

I am no savior, I am not brave!

Visioned Mirror
The image within,
is it there?
From what I see,
there's nothing there.
I see nothing,
but the darkest shadows within,
the essence of the unwanted souls,
the cries of every undead.
Horror is only there in their eyes,
with the undead beasts drowning them,
with their organs ripped of,
by boiling them.
Witnessing death,
visioning hell,
I could only felt tears rolling,
mind vowing,
hands praying,
and justice to be serve.

Mirror,mirror on the wall,
I wish i could fend for them all....

Premium Member Lucky
A new guest in my home was recently welcomed.
He's not a person, he's a terrapin.
Lucky is the name I have given him
because he was lucky I was around when I rescued him.
By the trash in a small fish bowl is where I found him.
His owners must have gotten bored with him.
This is one reason why I find people so discouraging.
Why couldn't they have simply released him?
I don't plan on keeping Lucky indefinitely.
When he's grown large enough to fend for himself, I'll set him free....

Premium Member Daddy Is the King
Daddy is the king she said.
I was not sure what it meant.
He reads the Bible she told me.
And he is in charge of the world.

And he is the king? I asked.
She nods her head.
He tells us what to do and we do it.
She is thirteen, so I am amazed.

The king of the family.
The king of their house.
The king, the king, the king.
Long live the king, I think.

So sad that their mother escaped years ago.
Leaving four children to fend for themselves
at the hands of the king....

The Good the Bad and the Ugly Divorce
Let Him Go (Limerick)

Our mom told us how she chose her beau,
With an “eeny, meeny, miny, moe!”
Of course it didn’t last,
With a choice so half-assed!
But at least it taught the fool to grow!

Child Support (Haiku)

Parental disputes
Had placed us in the middle
Of their divorce wars

Divorce (Couplet)

He left her to fend for us alone, blasé with his remiss,
She chose to break this conjugal bond without marital bliss.

Survival of the Fittest
We act so different from them.
We have more complex minds, more,
Intricate ways of work.
They live, to support, to reproduce, to eat, drink, survive.
They feast don’t feast their desire, they fend for themselves among the selfish wolves of their pack.
Sound familiar?
One thing that’s different between us,
Is that we have a mind so grand, so complex upon the oceans of beings sprawled all around us, but.
What they have, is a mind, hidden from the truth, or, a mind only full of truth....
