Chartreuse with envy
In your shadow I walk
You're the toast of the town
The whole world will talk
Fame and fortune bound
And well on your way
Your star will shine on
While I waste away
Here lies the last of the brood
Though always sloshed, never rude
Fame and fortune eluded him
So, he filled himself up to the brim
Always there when we would call
He died from drinking alcohol.

Fame and fortune
she did not seek
For she was humble
she stayed meek
Her twin brother
chased a star
That did her brother's
life devour
So, please adopt
his sister’s view
Let fame and fortune
~ come to you
There are those who wish upon a star
to garner fame and fortune,
I wish that I could grab a bunch,
a boon for my beloved,
directly from the shimmering night sky.
I would place some in her hair
and others at her feet,
the largest star to win her heart,
a mark of my devotion,
for the girl I hope to meet!
There are those who wish upon a star
to garner fame and fortune,
I wish that I could grab a bunch,
a boon for my beloved,
directly from the shimmering night sky.
I would place some in her hair
and others at her feet,
the largest star to win her heart,
a mark of my devotion,
for the girl I hope to meet!
Life is short,
Fame and fortune i sought,
Only grief and chaos it brought,
One mornings wake, my mind harbored a thought,
To live a fruitful life and to use all talents god gifted unto me,
Looking forward with renewed purpose , i slumber with humble ambitions,
the same that great men so passionately sought...
My favourite film
which tells the story
of trombone player
and big band leader
Major Glenn Miller
This love story
shows his rise to
fame and fortune
and tragic death
His music
still enjoyed
by people
To this
very
day

Who are we?
When fame and fortune flicker,
Falter and fade.
Will any remember?
Who are we?
As the paraphernalia pale and
Reputations no more enthrall.
Will any recall?
The sum of other's memories?
Or is there more
Days of yore?
More yesterday in store?
Is this all then?
Three score and ten!
Or can life go on?
Does love prolong?
Im the girl
who says she rocks this world
who believe she's the one
who rocks on a guitar and sings for fun.
Im the rockstar
so tell me who you are
I shout and scream
to show you what I mean
Im this chick
who can handle this
fame and fortune
No, I dont need it.
I am this
you know, that rocker chick
she love you
she can do it...
by Max Burchett
Fame and fortune I sought,
And I found, but at high cost.
Then I found it was not all that I thought.
Then in your love I found the most.
Whispered words that fan love’s fire, inspire burning desire,
In three whispered words spoken to the heart.
To have your love is my greatest desire,
Forever entwined, never to part.

Having been given the role of pauper,
a mere pawn in life's chess game;
I've excepted then the offer,
casting upon none blame.
Had I fame and fortune
and all its worldly acclaim;
Might not I revel in my portion
and squander away my name.
Better then, the riches of wisdom,
for me a just reward;
With knowledge as my kingdom
and all the universe mine to hoard.
In my days of fame and fortune
I was totally unknown,
hundreds of fans never wrote to me
and nobody bothered to phone.
Remembered for what I didn’t do
and all the mistakes i’ve made,
but I can have no complaints
for I was never payed.
Not proud of my achievements
I’m doing the best I can,
and from what I see around me
I’m just an average man.Average Man
I Shall Not Want
A polluted world.
Fame and fortune.
To be idolized.
The car of my dreams.
To live outside my means.
I shall not want.
Be humble at heart.
Not to be arrogant.
I’m content where I stand.
Have guidance through the emerald garden.
Don’t worry about tomorrow.
Just a few encouraging words.
Sense of peace through gratitude.
Psalm 23:1
I must tell you,
I find the narcissistic personality
Somewhat disgusting --
The type who loves
Only him/herself, you see,
On the inside never adjusting,
Who obviously think
They are superior to the nth degree,
Fame and fortune lusting.
Loving to see their name in print
They seize opportunities
To say, “Look at me!”
I suspect they are secretly rusting!

Come I now to crossroads barren
No help have I which way to go
Now desert me, fame and fortune
My fickleness has naught to show
Such thoughts tend to leave me weary
steeped in mire of my own design
A windblown place, drab and dreary
with no happiness or sunshine
Know I better than there linger
Grand funk is never really grand
Hang the prize a little higher
On solid rock is where I stand
It's a feeling that words can't explain,
It's a desire that sometimes can't be contained,
It's worth more we often know but sometimes cost less than we show,
It's a motion for devotion,
It's often taken for-granted but never remains the same,
We use it for fame and fortune when it's a treasure we all contain.
It's a simple four letter word but isn't as simple as it seems,
If you've ever been hurt you know exactly what I mean.
I welcome death I'm not afraid
Ten years within this cell I've stayed
My wealth immense a cruel game's been played
Innocent but still a debt it must be paid
For with the Devil I have made a trade
A life of fame and fortune weighed
It seems my selfish nature I obeyed
I watched as all I had was on parade
By truth the jury could not be swayed
Soon in a grave my body will be laid

After weeks of practice, I’m ready to get out there.
Me and the rest of the guys love to play a real game.
There’s a cute second baseman with really long hair.
I didn’t know girls could play, but I guess it’s just the same.
I’m the last at bat; they call me the clean-up hitter.
I don’t feel any pressure, because I know I’m good.
They don’t pay me nearly enough, but I’m not bitter.
After all, I’m a tee-ball star, not a star from Hollywood.
In her days of glory she was a Movie Star
A symbol of beauty, even from afar
Winning a couple of Academy Awards
Her fame and fortune were in the Cards
But the years had crept upon her face
Now wrinkled by time's inevitable embrace
She had gotten weak and could not stand
Without being given a helping hand
Now she's tucked away in some obscure place
Faded are her beauty and grace
Her memories now are often scarred
She had now become a forgotten Star
I can not hide who I am inside.
My heart is an open book for all to read.
My soul is a whisper in the breeze.
When I am down and need a way out
I grab my pen and let it out.
writing gets me through life.
I don't do it for fame and fortune.
I write for myself
and those who'll listen.
If I had a choice to do it again
I'd reach for my pen.
My words come easily you see.
A poet I am and will always be.
living my dreams I always dreamed.
There's many different forms of love
love of wealth fame and fortune
love of material things
and human cravings
which all diminish with the passing of time.
The truest love is a spiritual love
that resides in each and everyone.
It's a love without conditions
it's imbedded the day we are born.
It's the love that gives life its meaning
It's a love that can do no wrong.
A love that brings us more closer to God
A precious love that unites us as one.
To affirm a show has made it,
More than ticket sales, the proof
Can be found if it is parodied
And pops up in a spoof.
For it’s fun to poke some fun at
Those performances so big
All the audience will recognize
The actor and the gig.
It’s the price of fame and fortune,
For success bestows the right
To exaggerate one’s attributes
And take a mocking bite.
While the viewers grin, the targets
Of the spoof have the last laugh,
For the public still will clamber
To receive their autograph.
