Old beat brown truck has stuff sticking every which way out the back.
On sides of pallets he has added to both sides, to try and cram more.
As truck turns I see a rusty refrigerator, wheel barrow, and two bikes.
One of the bikes looks pretty new.
This is an affluent neighborhood for Kansas City.
I hope he did not just pick up some child’s bike in a yard.
That would be too cruel....

He is waiting for Daisy, who has given up hope.
She has run off and gotten married, far away from this dope....

They were dynamic, their harmony was fine!
They had pared down to four, from the original nine.
The five who could not sing had pneumonia that day.
We applauded these Corgis in every which way.

They sang Joy to the World and Jingle Bells too.
Adding a bit of jazz, and then Christmas Wee Woo.
They were amazing, and we could not stop clapping.
At the end these Corgis did a bit of back slapping....

I was a budding bookworm in the Big Apple. A river of people rushing past was such a blur for a girl so small. This ocean pulls you in and spits you out like a bad sunflower seed. In a concrete jungle, people live in boxes on top of boxes. The sea of cars is always moving. Even at an age when everything was handed to me, there was no yellow brick road for me to follow, only sidewalks going every which way....
