The Conduit to Compliancy

I slip into a figment of imagination,
I find desire.
A place where I seek validation,
I become a Liar.
Our new human salvation,
I embellish the fire.
Social media: the place we all admire.

Hiding Inside

Most of our lives are spent
icing the cake

Covering the substance
where meaning partakes

To coat and embellish
what we most try to hide

Distracting, misleading
—shrouded inside

Food, Sex, and Money

Come back to reality
the fuel line, source, and parking head
you cannot embellish
what has energized for millennium
Don't water down what must be devoured
Zeal in its proper input/ output
True depth of cave man passion

You Never Stay Long

The sun just rose and
The blossoms came and played in
The bare tree branches

Now after a while
All amber flowers are gone
You never stay long

The rapture remains
You'll return to embellish
My blues in boredom

Premium Member Beauty of being Seventy Two

I do not embellish the truth.
I cough it out
Letting it land on the table
Ooze along on the floor
Touching people’s shoes
Slithering along the sidewalk in front and in back of me
My truth as I see it,
Part of the beauty of being seventy-two.

Who Am I

I wait
I’m sovereign

I speak
I marvel

I worship
I’m soulful

I ponder
I’m hopeful

I celebrate
I’m cheerful

I do wrong
I’m fearful

I fear loss
I’m cautious

I embellish
I’m thoughtless

I grow
I cherish

I age
I perish

..... who am I?

Every one of us

The Sword

Every touch at the edge of the sword,
Cuts through skin and cuts through words.
The delicate sliver, plated on the sides,
To decorate and embellish the sharp glide.
As beautiful as night,
Astonishing many mortal breaths.
The sword can determine, life or death.

More Frills Please

Oh, what a style – my, what a look!
Make it flounce with lace and luxuries galore,
Add ruffles and superfluities with a golden hook,
Embellish the indulgences all others adore,
Excessive immoderation is what you should cook,
I’ll have cheese on my burger – my delectable amour!

Sunflowers

You fill us with life
For the stream of love to flow;
We chase your sweet light
Renouncing the huffy woe.

We embellish the planet
With our serene art;
The nectar you fill us with
Feeds the thirsty heart.

When you lie concealed
In dark clouds or in mist;
We turn to each other
Sharing joys, so blissed.

Up and down as it overlooks
the open book
freefalling so
but where to go?

Embellish each page, one by one
where words will run,
of written swerves,
artistic curves

By quill that writes an artful verse
I now rehearse
but cannot free
calligraphy
