Snow banked high against the gate
Walking to school,never late

Milk left solid on the cill
Ears well muffled,against the chill

Rationed coal,eked ,bit by bit
Fire grates, so rarely lit.

Nights of cold,run into weeks
'Til grass through iron soil,peeked....

Broken Promises one fail to keep has a
condition and oftentimes one will huff and
puff when things doesn't confirm what was
lead to expect was a result of broken promises

Sometimes you use your last breath to shout it
One last ditch attempt to survive
Which hastens the end
Time moves differently in these moments
After the scream
It is painful and slow
Eked out in measured pain
My throat hurts
My chest hurts
It is hard to think
But time spirals in front of me like an eternity
I can't remember what I wished for
Or what needs to change
I just need to breathe to survive
