a hummingbird's delicate grace
floats free of time
wings thrumming
heartbeats drumming
symphonies in confines of space
he waits
nonchalantly
drumming his long fingers
impatiently......he waits in vain

days and days of rain,
and the endless sound of rain
drumming the rooftop
and I am hysterical
after days and days of rain.
Drums
Beaten by ladies fingers
Sticks now, to do dong,dong
Drumsticks adding
Ladies fingers
Cooked into dishes
Feeling tasty tongues
She drums a beat no one else has heard.
It comes from her soul, unique like her.
A song maker, she shines in all ways.
Happily drumming her own rhythm.
Act out stories of ancestors and gods
Reciting poetry they gave us nods
Polyrhythmic drumming
Mamas are a humming

the softness of her sweet lips
lingering on my forehead
plant love in my drumming heart

emissions of the thunder’s cry
& the rains erupt at dawn –
our drumming sky
drops new honey droplets
of hope & the seventh heaven
mixing with the cock-crow.

If we be space within which flows time,
drumming a beat sounding love’s chime,
where then is the fun, if no surprises stun
and there are no imperfections to be undone?

Extended legs and neck
Eager jabs, peck peck peck
Endemic down under
Eggs many in number
Evades you by running
Excited voice drumming
Echoes of an ostrich
To keep his mind off his father's woes
Hunter became a Trumper
Soon his left foot started drumming
~ It 'mis-heard' he was a ‘Thumper’
Over here, send the word over there
Canucks are coming, limericks to share
The drums are drumming
Good times are a-coming
Send a good giggle word, better be prepared
Over there, over there, send the word over there
Johnny Canuck is coming, his limericks to share
The drums are drumming
Good times are a-coming
Send a good giggle, better be prepared
Over there, over there, send the word over there
Johnny Canuck is coming, his limericks to share
The drums are drumming
Good times are a-coming
Send a good giggle, better be prepared
Over there, over there, send the word over there
Johnny Canuck is coming, his limericks to share
The drums are drumming
Good times are coming
Send the good word, to giggle be prepared

fingers skilfully skimming
over the piano keys
akin to bliss magnetism
renewing rapture with ease
betrothed to God, love distils
vibrations unbecoming
succumb to slow seduction
bliss strobes in our heart drumming
A bald autumnal tree with -
one or two green sprouts
drumming by a Woodpecker
My soul is finally at peace
It has joined with yours
Its longings are now appeased
Drumming down its force
The chains that bind are no more
The loneliness is gone
I've found that reason to live for
It's because you and I are one
Over there, send the word over there
This Canuck is coming, his limericks to share
The drums are drumming
Good times are a-coming
Send a good giggle word, better be prepared
(Based on an old World War II song)
Explicit Trump Is Illicit
Not only do we want to be complicit,
We also have enjoyed being explicit;
When will shout,
Drum him out;
What Trump did is completely illicit.
Jim Horn
If from VMI you will know what a
drumming out is.
Bugles Blared
Up everything we had been summing,
Had head's up a threat was coming;
Had been worried,
And we hurried;
Bugles blared and did hear drumming.
Jim Horn
This is the introduction to my war
