We built a flammable house.
Put smoke detectors in.
Then called the fire department
to save what we had in.

Then cashed in our insurance
to buy another house.
And filled it up again
with things we'll have to dowse....

existence. Hands
carry daggers
with sharp
edges hoping
to penetrate
the heart that

sorrow will

flames that

my titanium
heart that will
break your
fingers...

Angry eyes spray the rising flames of raging fire
Caustic words prick, the blare of voice doesn’t tire
Hapless relationship worn in grip of distress burn
Dismay drives the mind away, it doesn’t return.

If remorse could dowse the fire, make cold tear
Scorched heart drenched, the smoke would clear
Love regained, with tear it would blend in the eyes
With the ashes in the wind a new mind would rise.

Unstoked smokeless fire of the wild
Unclasped lost togetherness burns
Uncleaned ashes cover soiled mind.

Fiery disdain the bloody eyes spray
Scary voice threatens harsh to hurt
Flowery attachments wilt in disarray
Wary heart sinks and splits apart.

Remorse could melt mind to tear
Dowse the fire in the burning eyes
Bruise healed mind would reappear
Wise and from ashes it would rise....

The heartless gust bellows on me,
And I can't breathe;
I suffocate
At thoughts of waking 'morrow.
Each step, a robot
Numbed by icy air;
I am unaware
Of my self's feet to my home.

My tears are hot;
They sizzle out.
Creases of my eyes burning,
The suffering
of a thousand ice hearts.

Where is my comfort?

I hope to trip,
Face down to snow,
Overtaken
By lack of heat that pierces
My human skin.
Freeze my tears, fierce crystals,
Dowse my flaming mind....
