When one is down and out
Do not give up on life,
The bible says
‘And it came to pass’
Never did it say
It came to stay!

A repost of an old Tanka form poem.

Down and Out

When your down and out
You want someone to lay down with you
Shine a light
Wash away all your dreams
Ease your mind
So all your troubles disappear
Look into your eyes and wipe away the the tear.
Form: Verse

Down and Out

“Stay away, I can’t afford to be sick.
Hand sanitizer please, and make it quick!
I can’t have the flu,”
I moaned as I puked -
“I’m out of Tylenol, Nyquil, and Vics!”

Sod All

if you tell me that I'm down and out you just display your traits
it shows that you are all about bitterness and hate
just now you sit most happily watching as I fall
yet stupid dumb opinions will always mean sod all

Premium Member Show Some Love

when someone's in need
and someone is down and out
be kind, show some love

These things of love
Is what- brings smiles
The little things

Just my personal advice, remember- be kind, it's nice to be nice.

A Little Truth

Some people are twisted,
Some fill you with doubt,
Some knock you to your feet,
When you're down and out,

Some people like drama,
Even if you're no fan,
Blowing all out of proportion,
Causing confusion and mayhem

God Will See You Through

Whenever you're down and out,
or, feeling Blue
At your Wit's end, from not having
a clue
And, you're fresh out of ideas, on
what to do
Aside from having of Patience, but
a few
Remember that God Will See You
Through
Form: Narrative

Without a Trace

You walk in front of a window
Sunbeams shine in front of your face
I take one look at you
And my worries disappear without a trace
where can I go when I'm down and out
I always run to you
all my worries and all my fears
disappear without a trace

Waiting

I loaned my heart to you for awhile
when you were down and out
I thought you would return it
eventually, when you were through
at night I lay here waiting
for you to return it to me
I don't think I'll ever get it back
that chunk you took with you

Lend a Lifting Hand

Everyone has those tough days
When storm clouds never fade away
 Bringing rain on their sunshine
Needing someone to be kind
Opening their heart to them
So they can smile once again
If you see someone down and out
Lift them up from their sad drought
Form: Rhyme

I Love Myself

what they despise and hate about me
is the same thing that makes me unique and special
so,i won't feel down and out
'cuz of the cussin and the fussin
i know where my destiny is
and soon it will be fulfilled
i ain't gotta change
only because in can't fit in

Right When She Left

strange relief, since she left,
he had been feeling so right,

though down and out, yet so
     exhilaratingly high and light,

so unexplainably much better
though beaten and battered,

     his self-respect stood strong
     where it ultimately mattered.

Premium Member Recalibrate

Recalibrate, rededicate, remotivate
Life calls on us to demonstrate

that we will not quit, give up, or surrender
    not become down-and-out dead-enders

So suck it up, stand erect, take the bull by the horn
at the crack of dawn, milk the cow, shuck that corn

Premium Member When Ever I See a Smiling Face

Happy
To see a smile
On someone's glowing face
It so makes me feel wonderful
When somebody is feeling down and out
I try my best to comfort them
I spread my love to all
To hope you feel
Happy

Premium Member Mr Dee

Mr. Dee, the down and out, downcast, downhearted cat
broody, moody, gloomy and in no way fat
dejected, rejected, chased off by some
oppressed, depressed, droopy and rather glum
could not trust people after he was thrown away
buoying him up now is my brilliant cat-loving Aunt Fay.
