Once there was an adventurous Pixie,
Who lived in deep south Dixie.
He wasn't black,
So he had to go back
Now he's a travelling Gypsy.

Down deep in Dixie
We have long heeded his call
(And still pay the price)

A Pirate queen on the Dixie Queen
Had a toothache truly bad and mean
They docked for a day
In Pelican Bay
Sorry choppers now happy and clean

There's a Muse to know Caren calls Trixie
Invisible -- but seems like a pixie
She motivates Caren
Who's creatively darin'
And I ain't just a-whistlin' Dixie

Trust in your love and who loves you back
Hear me whistling dixie, a reason lovers attract
Without trust
It's only lust
Soon becomes old and time to make tracks

Trust in the one you love and who loves you back
Ain't whistling dixie, it's a reason lovers attract
Without trust
It's only lust
Soon becomes old and time to make tracks

I only got a Blue Cheese
and I need a burger bad
said he’d only take Dixie
or a Jackson at a push
now I’m beggin’ on my knees
but don’t wanna make him mad
I’m in a foodie fixie
but he said “go kiss my tush”

Lately my limericks have been gushing out thick and fast
Enjoy them too before posting 'em for each lad and lass
Not all top notch
But close to the top
Humour that makes me whistle dixie through my big ass

Some think of geometry as art,
but I don't include Renes Descartes.
A philosopher of calibra,
he combined geometry with algebra.
When in a pickle or a fix he
was not only just whistling Dixie.
He was writing down equations,
perfect for geometric occasions.

Dixie pixie and Dixie Tom and Jerry;
Swam the river instead of catching a fairy;
While Huckleberry Hound Pluto and Ralph;
Poke them all in the eyes, now they're not seeing like Three Blind Mice

Rise Dixie Rise
Rise Dixie rises to fire your guns once more.
Let the south fight for this country of ours.
Not to fight our kin but those that come to take it away.
To arm s to arms my dixie rise not against the north but those from other lands.
Rise Dixie rise this time we will win

My sweet Creole Pixie
(My granddaughter Dixie)
Still loves her Paw-Paw
In spite of his flaws
'So you do or you don't'
'So you will or you won't'
Accepts with no strings...
'It's simple' she sings
No matter what I say
('It's all right...You're okay!')
No matter what I do
('So what?' 'I love you!')

The Rioteer
There was a rioteeering lady named Trixie,
Who with folks of her kind liked to mixy.
With bats and rocks she headed out,
To hit an officer in his snout.
She now does time in a jail cell in Dixie!

Lies saunter through bent brow’d occasion,
teasing the elegant disposition of
wilting Dixie flowers.
Glass clinks together,
in unison with a common cackle.
Snakes in the grass;
Coming to suck their eggs,
but there’s no ruffled feathers here.
It’s just another warm southern night,
amid the fire;
Nature will take it’s course.

Louis Armstrong …
a class by himself
Not Dixie or Jazz
but much deeper felt
Growing better with age
his music enthralls
If fourteen or forty
his melodies call
Both Ella and Ray
are seated out front
As Satchmo delivers
when others exeunt
Timelessly treasured
he’d broken the mold
Of what sound can measure
—and a smile can hold
(Dreamsleep: December, 2023)

Kroger, Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, or Harvey's
All great places to shop
But when the clerk queries 'paper or plastic'
My demeanor makes a terrible hop
I envision my eggs being broken
My 'Little Debbie' cakes soggy and wet
I get upset close to croakin'
But I calm down quickly and don't fret
The clerk gets a real sweet 'no thank you'
And I flash her a dazzling smile
I purchased canvas bags that will do
'Cause I've gone green and in style

The frozen male gamete is injected into the
bovine beast of burden and succour.
Months later, through the miracle of mitosis, a
juicy cut of prime passes through the birth canal, both
beautiful and bloody.
Steadfast child of some eastern divinity, I have faith that this creature was born
to meet his end on some surgical-steel golgotha,
and nourish me as bits and pieces cut and portioned on my dixie plate!
-note-
I am not a vegetarian.

I do not know?
Here lies a rebel soldier
He stood and fought with pride
And when the war was ended
This poor, brave soul had died
He fought to free his children
He fought for southern rights
One day a bullet found him
He died that dreary night
He died defending Dixie
His wife and children cried
They buried him in Rebel ground
His rifle by his side
Now many try to cover up
These men who fought and died
Defending what they believed upon
Our sons of Rebel pride

A pink unicorn with buzzards dressed in stylish royal blue
Sashayed into the cow barn of my nemesis, Cindy Lou.
Witches and goblins were giving cow an October hairdo.
There was a loud gasp in the middle of the bovine’s shampoo.
What kind of beast are you? Asked a gargoyle with parley voo.
Quite honestly said the unicorn, I do not have an inkling or a clue.
But I can whistle Dixie fast, and I canter a sweet soft shoe.
They let him stay and marveled at his powerful pigeon coo.
