The Deaf
Discouraging words were uttered to him
They tried to halt him from reaching his dream
But he did his very best
He tried hard to reach his quest
He was too deaf to hear their daunting scream

A Distinctly Unparliamentary Word
It is not a discouraging word
but, according to one, is a turd.
F-A-R-T
is not pretty
and in Parliament should seldom be heard

Keep Walking
Let Them Talk...

If they keep talking
keep walking
if they keep gossiping
keep ignoring
if they keep cursing
keep on blessing
if they keep on insulting
keep on praying
if they keep discouraging
keep hard-working
keep succeeding
keep winning.

Loves Sick Poems
so many poems
words of useless rime
so many love songs
that live no life of mine
so many great speeches
that i want to succeed
so many discouraging words
that wont hurt me
so many encouraging words
that lift my spirit
but as a poem
let me say
this is my way

A Muffin Is a Girl's Best Friend
A muffin
Mends every broken heart
And will
Never not miss you
Dearly when you've gone
Away.

A muffin like
Mine
Always has your heart
Near to hers and
Doesn't ever leave it
All alone.

A
Muffin is
A
Never
Discouraging and best friend
A girl could ever have.

Dedicated to my best friend and Muffin

When dusky, purple clouds cross the restless sky, the angry moon frowns with whispered sigh. Darkened storms threaten to weep, discouraging sleep where dreamers lie. Star streamers stare and proudly peep, promising soft light will sweep welcome diversion to weary eye when dusky, purple clouds cross the restless sky.

Premium Member Definitely Not
Discouraging others
Expecting instant respect
Fingering a bad guy
Imagining worst scenario
Negating someone’s accomplishments
Irritating people in a mean way
Tasting caviar
Eating slimy oysters
Laughing at a person’s misfortune
Yelling about people I have never met

Needling a nefarious never-do-well-er
Ostracizing an ostrich
Tackling a Tiger...

Wasted Effort
I’m sure that what you seek
Is at some cloud-veiled peak
That could pick up more than a week
For a nearing by The Weak;
To be soon skinny that is sleek
And mentally thwarted – A freak
This proving by easily sounding Greek …

And-Gosh!-already, I picked out a beak
About to on it havoc wreak
Or leave an unseemly streak …

It is sure, a discouraging prophecy
But Wasted Effort is no legacy....

Premium Member The New Year- What's Next
It is here- Twenty-Twenty-Four a new book- three hundred and sixty-five blank pages to fill up. All too fast they'll unfold to shape our world. Will this new volume answer questions- fulfill promises for a new year more rewarding than the last? God, send us good judgment to choose leaders who will shape a story more uplifting than last year's discouraging- written tale.

Premium Member Cleaning Is Not My Thing
Malt-o-Meal sitting on my desk
Left over from last year
Found in a box I never unpacked
in August and this is April 25th

Cleaning is not my thing;
Even when I do it no one appreciates it
And no one knows
For there are no obvious clues.

So here I sit,
Enjoying my hovel
Finding whatever I need
Knowing it will be here again tomorrow

Discouraging others
From disturbing me
or my mess that
Completes me....

Attitude Tom Wright 11-10-2016 Discouraging words are uttered every day, And the most hurtful I hear is “I don’t care.” Dudes get uptight when not getting their way, That is more lamebrain than a barrel of hair. Not caring about things is a bad place to live, And from our vocabularies we should abolish. Thinking only of one’s self with nothing to give, Exposes us as being thoughtless and smallish;

Premium Member The Deputy
Two years ago
Man started defending
A war with virus
Now still going on
Man's throne is unstable
New deputy is rising up one by one
Soon out of control
Unknown and discouraging
Many have given up and gone
Pity the man
Pity the digital world
Pity the innocents who have departed
Without knowing what really happened
Even those still alive are wondering
Who will be the king
In the next dynasty
The man or the virus...

How beautiful you were
Your love flourished and did transfer
To us upon with ambitious dreams
And love for each did stir.

You flitted about, to each one nourishing
Not in discouraging but, encouraging.

To say, “It’s going to be all right.”
And the future is in your sight.”

With God's grace and never His absence.
You climbed the stairs into the arms with guidance.
And in His favor manifest love spellbind
Comfort to those you had left behind....

Premium Member Lucky
A new guest in my home was recently welcomed.
He's not a person, he's a terrapin.
Lucky is the name I have given him
because he was lucky I was around when I rescued him.
By the trash in a small fish bowl is where I found him.
His owners must have gotten bored with him.
This is one reason why I find people so discouraging.
Why couldn't they have simply released him?
I don't plan on keeping Lucky indefinitely.
When he's grown large enough to fend for himself, I'll set him free....
