I keep seeing you in strange places.
My heart flutters, you grin at me.
I blush and I turn away.
You are too dangerous,
and you know you are!
Maybe next time
we will speak;
maybe
not!
Deed beseeches with no passion,
Ruled like a peasant,
By cussing, language was weaken,
Rationality overruled by emotion,
Ignorance detests reason,
These mongrels play chicken.
What a trick!
Circumventing

Malevolent
people
are truly
maloverted
there isn't any medication
that can cure this febricity
I break out in a soaking sweat
with cold chills racking me
maybe it is the fever
that's causing discombobulation
no, I think it is just you
making my heart dehydrated
give me your aorta ~ and in exchange i will give you a nice pulse
said the kidney bean to a cabbage heart ~ as it openly convulsed
but the black eyed peas protested violently ~ acting with impulse
of course i needed a leek pretty bad ~ and suddenly felt repulsed
Discombobulation
Interrupts my concentration
In the darkest corner of my mind
It's sinuous coils unwind
And because of it's intrusion
I'm caught up in confusion
My thoughts become so scattered
And the thing that really mattered
The track that I was following
The snake is busy swallowing
I wish I could combobulate
And concentrate to meditate
the sky is falling
the fall is crying
the cry is calling
the call is dying
the dye is casting
the cast is resting
the rest is lasting
the last is testing
the test is boring
the bore is lying
the lie is scoring
the score is tying
the tie is binding
the bind is grating
the grate is grinding
the grind is waiting
the wait is ending
the end is stopping

The blender of time
has utilized my face
as a map to find
its way back home.
Discombobulation
is made with the wits
of the desperate
and the alone.
To be dangling
off of a cliff
holding the hand
of someone
you do not trust.
Has made me more
of the man I am
than any loyal
or delicate love.
I hold in my hand
god's only command
to complicate
my own.
And with this pride
and sin inside
I carve my word
in bone.
She Spoke
by Michael R. Burch
for Beth
She spoke
and her words
were like a ringing echo dying
or like smoke
rising and drifting
while the earth below is spinning.
She awoke
with a cry
from a dream that had no ending,
without hope
or strength to rise,
into hopelessness descending.
And an ache
in her heart
toward that dream, retreating,
left a wake
of small waves
in circles never completing.
