Keeper at the gates, why do you hide from me
i've been broken, now you offer up the key
can i tempt you with my honest declaration
or must i solve your riddles,
'til you reveal yourself to me

Strings and limbs, we can use these things

But all that grasps stays in sight
From shoulder to core declaration
On this mat we make a firm statement
An echo, a declaration of love,
A whisper, a voice from above.
A cold wind, a silent night,
A hard journey, an end in sight.
A golden sky, a rising sun,
Other ways, there are none.
A true love, a happy ending,
A broken heart, love is mending.

In bright red paint, beneath my feet,
Was a declaration, short and sweet:

That’s how graffiti used to be,
Touting one’s identity
Or that of someone much adored
Without a message untoward.
