Jaws she blows tricks and treats
just the sweetest pumpkin,
jamming to candle light,
jaspers and goblins flight.
Jumping Jack's and Jills find,
jeweled cutouts divine,
jostling for lantern's glow.

Premium Member she dresses spicy
She dresses spicy with ruffles and satin so bright.
We know she’s here, because the air gets light.
The chiffon on her sleeves are the palest tan.
She dances in high boots, with cutouts that can.

Who is her dressmaker the plain women ask.
She designs herself says her Great Uncle Flask.
He is not always reliable, and a braggart so…
We have no idea if this is the truth, as you know....

Matisse’s “Christmas Eve”
in a procession of candles

Through the church window
in the 20th century of faces
impaled gingerly
in velvet glow
flickering shadows against
the walls
an organ streams

Through the church window
lost cutouts found
humanity gathering
into a moment of flame

Even Godless poets
recall lifelong enigmas
of golden glow
recording the same search
the same wonderment...

Paper Cutouts
My house mothers the sweet sting of cooked nettle,

Nothing nailed to the walls for these come with me.

And I hear the airplane groove, I'm on the move.

Like thin oil in water, I never settle.

Liberum Divisa 6, 31st of May 2021. These lines are taken from my poem "Burning Papers Fly" written on the 26th of May 2021....

The Revelation Seven
Messengers, yes
But not five-point cutouts of gold-foil card stock

Orbs of gravity pulling everything
Massive pressure
     Fusion of atoms
     Splattering matter
Seven of these!
     Perhaps the Pleiades?

He made them
     placed them
     supplies them
     guides them
Surely, He can hold them

Messengers to the Church
     to the world
(Stolen by a thieving deceiver)
But still proclaiming
His story
Declaring His glory...

what did i go here for
was it the mountain of mashed potatoes
marching me
toward the Simon light
if my memory…

red...beep…
     blue...beep
green...beep
     blue...beep
yellow...beep..red

helicopters overhead
a bright light
the calvary came

the desert storm
haboob of aliens
through the gate

they be strange creatures
with cutouts and lanterns
boozing and screaming

they be us kooks
and those be their warning shots
area 51 adieu
