From Curlers To Rags
He looked at grandma in shock and said,
“What are those rags sticking out of your head?”
“I needed curls, “ she replied.
“No money, hot rollers died –”
Optimistic, hair curled on rags instead....

Curlers On a Cow
Clown curlers on a cow? Does it look posh? Chic?
I must admit, it is different, unusual and unique.
The cow is humiliated, he got tired of standing still.
Luckily, he got a treat, a sour pickle, dill....

Flasher Mac
There was an old hooker named Black,
She turned the air blue in Iraq,
In stilettos of ink
And her curlers of pink,
She flashed in her apricot mac.*

Have You Seen Arrogant Cow
Have you seen my arrogant cow? The farmer asked me.
I am not sure, I told him. I have seen at least twenty-three.
She is the one wearing curlers, as prissy as a cow can be.
I had not seen her, but now I was searching avidly....

Wedding Day Love Sonnet Bride
Stood Barefoot
In a Hairnet and Curlers
Starring at your Wedding Dress
I don't care if it is Unlucky
To see my Bride before the Wedding
Because for me
I simply can not wait for all this fuss to be over
And we can start out our new life together
And I have you all to myself
Until Death do us Part...

The Parrot Who Knew Too Much
Perched up high, a nosy spy,
a feathery fiend with a twinkling eye.
Mimics whispers, spills the tea,
squawking secrets recklessly!
"Mrs. Jones wears curlers bright!"
"Mr. Clark snores every night!"
"Lucy kissed the mailman twice!"
"Grandpa hides a stash of dice!"
The neighbors glare, the house is tense,
one loose beak, at their expense.
Locked away, but still he crows--
"Wait 'til you hear what the banker knows!"...

Where the Honeymoon Ends
He said,
"wear your bedroom shoes darling,
and all those black frilly things
that need garters, suspenders, and straps.
She smiled secretly to herself
knowing he would turn up in 2 day old shorts
unshaved, a little drunk and probably
forgetting to shower.
So when the time came
she surprised him in the boudoir
dressed in an old housecoat,
legs unshaved, and hair in curlers.
Typically, he turned off the light
and got right to it....

Nosy Neighbor
She runs down the street in her bathrobe and curlers,
With the big flower prints peering in the neighbors windows,
She has nothing else better to do than to get in others business,
Acting like she owns the block, the other neighbors can't stand this,
If a dog barks she's calling the cops,
She's also knocking on your door reminding you to mow your lawn,
I thank her, smile politely, and slam the door,
I hope she got the hint this time, Lord....

World Cruise
W wonders can abound if you follow me round
O oarsome adventures day after day (sorry)
R relaxed and unwound we felt jollier than a clown
L loosen the dentures, put the curlers away
D dressed up in gowns, to paint town all day.
C curious treats await on the shore
R riverboats bring them to our door
U under starlit skies we sail each night
I in stormier seas you held me tight
S so far as the I can see
E ethiopia's the only place we haven't been....

The Guy In Aisle Nine
“Anyone who isn't embarrassed of who they were last year
probably isn't learning enough.” — Alain de Botton
convinced me to roll curlers
let them hang loose
roam the village
grocery store
bobbing along
latent style
and jeans
wouldn’t mind the stares
if but i
could restore my youth
shake my booty
oh so fine
to the chagrin
of my grandmother’s eyes
to the surprise
of the guy in aisle nine
who thought me shy

Mountains of Pillows
Mountains of Pillows
A bag of popcorn in my bed,
A mountain of pillows at my head,
A slab of pizza on my right,
What more could a girl want for at night?
Streaming a movie from Amazon,
Long silk nightie and curlers on,
A mountain of pillows to my right,
Makes a girl seem less alone at night.
Rain outside is coming down.
A comforting, soothing sound,
Soon I’ll sleep and take my rest,
With mountains of pillows to caress.
7/14/16 ...
