Salad & garlic croutons
A noodle stir fry
Sweet & sour diced chicken
hot garlic roasties
chateau-neuf-de pape
Hot cross buns
Gee !
poetry morsels are always afloat
as tasty croutons to note
so in PS I daily do alight
for a perfect poetic delight
PoetrySoup a place to which I fare
if a verse (like this) I wish to share
I had an apple
It had a worm in it
So I diced it up evenly
Added croutons and place him in a salad
Ahh! nothing like a little protein
Where's the ranch dressing
4/17/18
by James Edward Lee. Sr.
I served him up some soup
Tomato was the kind
I sprinkled it with croutons
As I didn't think he'd mind
How was I to know he hated it
Yet the love was sweet and true
He smiled and ate the lot and said
"That was very kind of you"
"PINK"
a manifesto plucked
from the republican minds
of democratic croutons

If Minestrone soup
Was a rock group...
The Beefy base
Would take the lead guitars place.
The Croutons crunch
Would be the drums - munch!
The Carrot bits,
The drumsticks.
The Onion's tang,
The cymbal's clang.
The Tomato infusion,
The keyboards inclusion...
Soup - Rock. Bread - Roll.
Minestrone for a musical soul.
Her list includes croutons and jelly and jam,
as I read down, I see knockwurst and ham.
Bananas and tuna, pick up Borax and Bold,
if there's no Zest, then get Palmolive Gold.
Orange juice and lemons, Pepsi and Sprite,
ice cream and cookies for our guests tonight.
I arrive on line nine with it all and croutons.
It rings up, I reach in..I forgot the coupons.
Chubs is gravely flat.
We remove our hats.
Her wheel deflated him—
Chubs, my cuddly cat.
Flounder is lying flat,
ambling on his back.
Her croutons choked him—
Flounder, my friendly catfish.
Gopher is resting back-flat,
striking position for naps.
Her diabolical chocolate gateau
snuffed him out almost.
Gopher rose once again,
my mangy mutt, back-to-life.
Ma decried; she'd die
in a reindeer stampede
A patient came out of the patient's room
Into the doctor's office lobby zoom
A brown paper bag
Held in his hand sag
Declared, "I'll share my lunch" with loud boom
My husband with humorous thought said
They go good with salad and no bread
The patient then spoke
Croutons atop bloke
Laughter and twinkle between unsaid
At least he had a sense of humor..
When they weighted me I came
back out and told my husband
I just found out that I am way too
short..
