Premium Member Twilight
The sun sets on fringes
As the tired day cringes
Hope in the sky hinges
On tinges of twilight
As the night sky infringes
On my thoughts, that singes!

MOVIE
© RAJAT KANTI CHAKRABARTY
2014

I call her Movie
Because she moves day and night
A shadow drama on the white wall
Winks for milk
Her world cringes into a saucer
She mews
Says me and you
We make this world for each other...

Premium Member Dapper Coachman and Caterpillar Steed
Dapper coachman frog wore his top hat with star power
He travels this route regularly, always at the thirteenth hour.
His steed is a caterpillar who hails from the Bigtown Bower.
He cringes sometimes, when there is a storm or hard rain shower....

The Lesser Instinct
Winds sing harshly,
And nature gone extinct.
The earth has softened,
Though the sky is in a rage.
A silent echo is monstrous,
And life cringes for change.
Harsh words release a beloved temper,
While the knock sings to the lesser instinct....

I'M Having An Old Friend For Dinner
An empty bottle cringes then
A lone moment traces
A hollowness in soul.

Twisted truth of surviving on
Coldness only embraces
To puzzle more. And more..

An uneasiness emerges then
An introspection cries
Only to let me know..

I'm having an old friend for dinner.

An Indictment
I said yes
But you have not returned
From your far away summer
While here the winter cringes
For this bed has no shadow
That tells a memory
Of love unmelting in its sheet
But I night and day
Wander throught the sleet
Of falsehood
As though some madeness must explain
Your authorship of pain....

Abandoned
Along a country roadway,
a kitten cringes, lost,
wet and hungry, dirty.
What is the human cost?

Abandoned to the elements,
no refuge there in sight.
It faces thirst and starving
and dreadful coming night.

Why do people feel that
It's okay to do such things?
That neglect and cruelty
make them into kings?...

Poet and His Toad Wife
"The door kisses the window poor doormat cringes"
The poet stops his pen and his toad wife binges
                                         On ants flies and ice-cream
                                             Poet begins to dream
But on her next scheme his whole poetry hinges...

Premium Member Real
Don't think of sucking what you can out of me,
You'll never leave me weak;
Teeth that graze
In a drunken haze
Do you even know what you seek?
A dance in fire?
I laugh at that desire!
Your eyes will get burned;
Cloudy vision
Inept precision
Haha
There's nothing you can steal,
Beneath the layers
reality cringes,
Nothing of you is real...

The Unaltered Depiction
Startled by the hallucination
of himself upon the wall
The man of a compromised conscience
cringes with apprehensive velocity

Debilitating panic emerges
with a disconcerting air of predictability
Transporting him, intangibly, to a setting that prohibits
his own narration
Forcing him to endure his biography
without any preferred revisions...

First Fear of Freedom
He cringes in fear, his legs wobble,  his young wings scared stiff;

                     below the nest yawns a dark, deathly chasm of  what if;

                                                   plunges into space,

                                            flaps, slows down the pace;

ah, new-found freedom of flight, across, around the home cliff !...

Premium Member Santa Badger was a Pushover
Santa Badger can handle it Mrs. Badger said.
She was in charge, and this is not in my head.
I have seen the two together, she gives him no leeway.
He cringes from her directions by the end of their day.

Santa Badger was a pushover and gave much away.
Bunnies, hedgehogs, and mice soon showed up to play.
Let’s go out and eat, one of the mothers suggested.
By end of the day Babysitter Badger’s nerves were sorely tested....

Premium Member Free As a Bird
Listen to poem:
I fed the magpie scraps of bread
stay home
sentinel now perched, outside my house
essential travel only
'tis Spring, nice to get out and about
those swoops and jabs can really hurt
no friends in house
nice to feel the warm sun on skin
wear a spiky hat
only exercise for one hour a day
my dog cringes inside, bird-shy
only buy the basics
love the rain, umbrella helps
jab-shy, got the jab anyway
the dish ran away with the spoon...

Premium Member Cerberus
Midnight, Cerberus roams across the sky,
Chasing stars and barking upon the fly.
Hound of thunder, cloud riding the air,
With three heads and snaky tail awry.

Lightening cracks like a whipping lash,
Indoors, onlookers make a wild dash;
To escape the unnatural fiery glare,
Of the monster mongrel raining ash.

My pet dog cringes in abject fear,
Crawling into a box he is near,
Huddling low in the safe wooden square,
While the hell-hound doth sullenly sneer....

Premium Member Missed Phone Calls
Where doth cheery robin go?
 Will she return?
What if carnivore owl finds her?

Where is mother?
The veil is ambiguous.
I hear her voice.
I get calls from her phone.
A land line.

Death.
Wasn’t she supposed to be a permanent good bye?
But the veil is rising.
There is a new hello.

I miss her phone calls.
Return one. This number is no longer in service.

Hoot! Hoot! My native American side cringes.
Does my sorrow dance.

Where is my mother?
Is this her way to say hello?...
