Memory - a Ninette

Red.
Burning.
Covetous.
Neurons on fire.
You are the one thing.
The many things.
I let go.
But not.
Yet

My Love

I love you
Like the sunset.
My covetous eyes
Want you.
My soul freely escorts you
To where you need to shine.

My Mission

I strive to become great and not to be poor,
so when the needy comes I would open my door,
and bring corrupt and covetous fellows to the floor.

Heavenly Sham

With every religion…
to share in the blame

Masking out God,
in costumes of shame

Seeking to own
what they can’t understand

A covetous folly
—a heavenly sham

The Inferno Within

He begets the inferno within
Such impediments
To one's own happiness
Covetous in his own disguise
A condemnation to misery
Constrained to emotional infantilism
All forlorn and empty
He can't attain anything
Other than froth....

Envy Sits Alone

Death in comparison,
  a covetous dispatch

Jealousy reflected,
  its courtiers attack

An emperor left naked,
  his crown a vacant throne

Jesters flee the castle
   —as envy sits alone

Thou Shalt Not

The world is not driven by greed
it’s driven by envy …
Commandment 10 is carved in stone
positioned at the end
Where old injunctions miss their mark
a covetous reminder
Desirous of another’s place
—the devil painted green

One Percent

Look into the eyes of the suffering
For a moment open your soul to
The riches of you covetous love
Keep you blind from the future
And the loss of your vitality

Be wary of the truths
Unknown to those who create the illusion of comfort
For no man can understand fulfill love
At the sacrifice of another being

Jealousy

My covetous nature
Has left you in a state of perturbation
Betraying my diffident manner
As if I have been possessed
Maybe I am
For what agitates you
Torments me endlessly
Like a ghostly presence roaming the earth
In search of peace
I will never find it
Because jealousy is my master
That rules over me

Honeybee's Die

Are you rapacious with your poetry,
avaricious in your verse

Covetous of those words you read,
jealous—maybe worse

Do your thoughts deceive with what you write,
does bad intention rule the day

Those tracks you leave, the trap you’ve set
—with you the final prey

Hypocrisy

The sanctimonious tabernacle; where the desolated tongues confess.
The covetous, unwed beds are hungry, exuberant anatomies get undressed.
The biased courthouse; where many admissible lies rattle but hardly unfold.
The lewd jail cells are full, innocent bodies, minds, and souls loathly probed.

How See You

There are two sides to a coin

First toss

Masterful
Ingenious
Decisive
Discerning
Liberal
Enterprising

Cautious
Lithe
Astute
Suave
Sensitive

Time to flip to the other side

Muted
Insular
Disdainful
Dubious
Lacking
Envious

Covetous
Lumbering
Artful
Selfish
Shallow

It all depends on how you view it

Verdurous thy view

How am I so wounded by you?
Arrows never shoot, but run me through
Beautiful viper poisoning; stares straight, not a skew
I'm glad to be seen by their bite; I'll be its anti-venom, too
Covetous my own thoughts of envy; verdurous thy view
They're green and ravenous, but see me in a form so true
Eyes that sing a siren song; control my affection they do!

Loneliness

Hiding in a lake of tears
lie the dreams of those
whose pale, wan faces
are reflected
in its subtle waters.

On moonlit nights,
when covetous thoughts
weave a silent web of fear
love songs are empty
to the solitary ear.

Uncanny, the billowing shadows
that haunt the souls
of the lost and lonely
whose tears go unnoticed
who surrender to the void.

Desire and Obsession

desire

                            covetous, thirsty

                 arousing, enticing, pursuing

eagerness, ambition, madness, preoccupation

                stalking, fixating, concerning

                      complex, pathological

                                obsession

Century of Shame

When the birds are spilling down from the sky
And all the ocean dwellers are floating
Human carelessness and greed will be why
It's the environment we are choking
Everyday we continue provoking
Raping the the planet that keeps us alive
Damage is massive and trivialized
There's no species as covetous as us
A century of shame we symbolize
Always wanting more, it's never enough

Covetous

Is it a crime
To pry apart rhyme
Stitch lines, unhitched
From native consequence

To warily marry
Unmetered time
By forced remorse
Unrehearsed
In patchwork verse

In my malaise
My daydreams ablaze
I long for eloquence...

     to drip, untripped

From my lips

The devil rides
my prideful hide
Chastise with whip and spur
Damning the span
Between who I am
And who I wish I were.

Confession

In the heart’s tunnel lurks a murderer* conspiring as friend with human nature enraged by hatred… midst bitterness covetous angst and greedy wrath the slayer prowls... devouring smiting foe---- killer screams… “guilty--- I am… Lord!”

Jigsaw

The brain is inept at trying to divine

the creative fantasies of a noble,

           at times, scheming

                     mind,

much less probe, from end to start,

      the crimson contours of a

    generous, at times, covetous

                     heart.

  We can't fully know you and me;

like jigsaw pieces, let us seem,

          at times, let us really

                       be!

Death of a Protest

to celebrate a beautiful sin
on the green lake
a sequelae starts a covetous lust
of white skulls,

discovering oneself was as exciting
as the fondling of breast
for the first time –

innocent graveside, road burning
stretching to throbbing millions
harvesting endless tears;

inattention of grief
was the punishment of unknown
shredding the veil into bit pieces

the ferocious clawing
tears off the sunset of age.
your jealousy?
bitter screams?

What Is Life?

An expedition began years ago,
Devoid of a significant Destination,
Christened LIFE.

Making headway,
Encircled by plenteous acquaintances,
“EXPERIENCE” is the upshot.

Progressing ahead,
Corollary of capability,
Precise judgmental ability
Is the effect of “Experience”

Cautious progression,
In profession and personality;
Sensible Relationships,
Overlooking the covetous,
Dedicated and ingenuous,
Undoubtedly a boulevard to “SUCCESS”

Is this really what we call “LIFE”?
