Generic Love For The Bakery Couple

butcher went to bed with his cookie cutter
and baker opened her oven for his flutter
a recipe mix and bake
generic love to shake
dough rises bringing cake mold to shutter

The Way.
You were the way.
You promised salvation
You couldn't deliver.
Murder your faux martyrdom,
and cookie cutter family.
You hate me now because I couldn't fit,
But you didn't even try.
Compromise was never an option.
You were the way,
and you left me.
What am I to do now?...

All cooki-cutter comments, say the same thing!
But to blind you, they toss God's name in the ring.
Stay away from me, please!
Hang your comment on another poet's tree.
Dishonesty and I are an explosive mix.
Find someone else to lie to, and get your fix!

Cookie Cutter
Driving through the broken, potholed streets Lined with houses spanning decades Each with a thousandfold more character than that of the cookie cutter impostors they call homes I appreciate the creaks and groans Much more than the sheen of granite stones Value comes down to values. What are yours?

Equality
Life isn’t fair
Legions lament,
Noting there’s no equal share.

Some have the wealth of dreams.
Some have little to spare,
Fated to fail it seems.

But if life were fair
What makes us unique
Would grant us no reason to care.

We’d be cookie cutter clones
Stamped out in a row.
You could be me, and I you.
This life is fairer than we want to know....

On Tuesday November 23rd
Born again,
but was never dead,
just constant sinking
arms and legs made of lead
Square One and city-centre
the wandering to and fro
memories laced with scattered birds and trees
and cookie-cutter houses
Where lives are private
-I don't intrude-
and mind my own in solitude,
The quietude busy with the clicking of computers
and open eyes in study
never quite the same......

COOKIE CUTTER LEAVES

dark green cookie
cutter leaves -
so many
they shouldn’t matter?
do we love one more
than the other?
if each one gained
an inferiority complex
cut their wrists
from the old oak tree
and flew away
to who knows why
leaving us
with broken branches
would rain run
mascara from our eyes
produce raging rivers?
would Spring become
a painful season?

Premium Member Momma Did
Who had chicken soup
Simmering in a kettle,
Momma did ...
Letting the flavors mettle

Who baked sugar cookies
Shaped with a cookie cutter,
Momma did ...
And made with real butter

Who made things right
When all else was wrong,
Momma did ...
And it didn't take long

Who didn't give up
Nor ever let me,
Momma did ...
That's where her heart be

Who loved me always
Just the way I was,
Momma did ...
Simply ... because.
