My Atlantic Sky
Contently I gaze
upon marshmallowry fluff
formations floating
pass my daydreamy mind-space
of rapturous enchantment...

his cabin is hidden
beneath purple tinted mountains
lost in it's own beauty
reflecting from the rivers
raging waters
and the firs coolness
he stays to himself
living contently, harmonious...

A Fine Line
I'm walking a fine line,
somewhere between dead and alive,
I'm contently loosing balance,
tripping over my own two feet.
I'm scratched, scared, and bruised.
Will I make it out alive?
Or will I die,
on this destructive path of mine?...

Premium Member Winter Magic
I beheld amidst the baleful sky,
a single snowflake falling gently
startling white against the slaty gray.

The crystal alit with cushioned sigh
upon your lips and sat contently;
you, too cold for it to melt away.

Rested long upon that ruby scar
did that winter's magic falling star....

Bed
Bed

Plump down on the bed,
My head, heavier than before,
Follows my body,
Contently onto the bed.

My arms spread like a crucifix,
A groan escapes my lungs,
the blood-red sheets,
crushed on my bed.

A final smile and I sit up,
Norah Jones sings of new York City,
She does it so beautifully,
on my bed....

A Tree
I am a tree
Sitting contently
Atop this hill
Solitaire
Flourishing beautifully
In the springtime
Confident
Turning my foliage
Lush and green
Unbreakable
Until Autumn
When my leaves drift away
Parting
Surviving the cold winter
Bare and fragile
Delicate
And the cycle continues
Looking out over the world
Wise
Yet childish
Courageous
Yet weak
I am strong
I am a tree...

Premium Member Regrets
Are you truly happy
Happy with your choices and life
Do you have regrets
Consuming, running rife

Are you happy with “you”
Do you like the who you are
Or is your inner turmoil
Keeping happiness afar

At the end of your days
Will you look back and contently sigh
Knowing you made the most of this life you had
Or sigh sadly consumed with regrets …..before you die!...

Mushroom Tales
Mushrooms push up their caps
in a cow meadow.
The bovine dung adds that umami taste,
it's the Glutamate, that relishes and beguiles.

The cows don't eat the button mushrooms,
but as they graze, they may scoop some
into their contently chewing mouths.

I think these thoughts in a steak restaurant,
while adding Worcestershire sauce to my oxtail soup.
Mushroom will be arriving on this white linen
tablecloth
soon.

Premium Member Smile For a While
Allow me to fondly smile for a while.
Often the sun entices me
To hold on tight to
What I want life to be.

Allow me to sadly smile for a while.
Often the sky reminds me
To hold on tight to
The memories we made.

Allow me to contently smile for a while.
Often this town tells me
To hold on tight to
What I hope the future may be.

Allow me to happily smile for a while.
Often this scenery reminds me
To hold on tight to
The humor we shared....

Premium Member A Ewe and Her Two Small Lambs
Early spring field and scattered daffodils,
Framed in by the ethereal green hills.

Sun sweet warmth falls behind and tries to gain
As gray clouds drift, a calming sprinkling rain.

Under the dappled shade of the tall free
Laden with rich white blooms Bradford pear tree

A wooly ewe milking her small lambs, lie
Contently tucked resting until clear sky.

Baa-baa, scamper, and leap among the field
Awaiting time as mama made them yield.

Time Passages
Dreaming at the end of an oceans pier...
Taking a deep drag from this cigarette
Blowing tiny smoke rings into the air
Watching them one by one, float away
Little gray balloons; black and white
A photograph; ascending misty dawn
To greet yesteryears weary night which
Yawned and now fast asleep she waits
Contently as breaking bread these birds
Her cliffs edge they soar; whispering
Waves amid willows they'll play; poetry
The sound of her voice; waking; my love....

Premium Member The Ewe
She nestles in pastures long and green.
She chews the cud, looks so serene.

Her lips meet as she rests from her lunch.
She smiles contently and continues to munch.

She tilts back her head and inhales fresh air,
Twitching her ears with a dreamy eyed stare.

No matter the weather, sunshine or cloud,
No matter life's volume, quiet or loud,

Her tranquility glows. Somehow watching her
Brings a calmness to me while she's lying there.
