Regrets

Are you truly happy Happy with your choices and life Do you have regrets Consuming, running rife Are you happy with “you” Do you like the who you are Or is your inner turmoil Keeping happiness afar At the end of your days Will you look back and contently sigh Knowing you made the most of this life you had Or sigh sadly consumed with regrets …..before you die!

A self searching poem,,, probing , haunting...relentless .... Don't turn away from the mirror , stare into it full faced and be truthful...ask those hard questions .... and most importantly ... know yourself .. Thanks for sharing Darrell

No regrets here Deb. Maybe a couple of oops but nothing that did not lead me to something wonderful. Who knows about the alternatives and really, whether they would have been the better choice. No sense dwelling on it. Nice write dear Deb! hugs :)

I live one day at a time and try not to live in the past as that cannot be changed, If I gave it more thought I regret that I did not realise the importance of a good education. Many things I may have said or done to embarrass or upset anyone I regret if they did not warrant it. It would be difficult in life to have lived without regretting something big or small.

Wow, a bunch of questions that so many will struggle to answer. The human condition is such that we sometimes err. If I get through life with only little ‘err’s then I haven’t been too bad a fella. Another profound write, Deb. I wonder how many would answer your questions with one word…. “Gulp!”

I suppose looking back, I do regret I did not do all things as I wanted. One of them is I had only one child. Blessings.

Perhaps a sidebar question is what would I have done differently? The most real answer: not a thing. Evocative piece indeed, Ms. Deb. :o))

A thought-provoking poem, Deb. I experience both depending on the state of my mind on a given day. I try to let the regrets go and not repeat the same errors in my life, and think positive while trying to be who I am. Thanks for making us stop and think about it, my friend. Life can be challenging at times. Hugs, Bill
