American Born Congressmen
Drive Enviable Farrari's-
German Hostesses Inherit Jeeps!
Kentuckians
Lease
Mules
Nightly,
Offending Police!
Quiet Republicans Seem Troubled;
Unless
Vacationing Women Xylophonists,
Yodel
Zippingly!

Wake Up

You say you can’t believe that pile of ,
We built that bit by bit by bit by bit.
We tuned out all the news and all the twitter;
We let him grow bold while we grew bitter.
Congressmen and senators let us down.
How much longer will we let them stick around?
I know that change can take a while to flow
Wake up now friend and see who is the foe.

Premium Member is world peace attainable

world peace
is it attainable?
not yet.

Plausible?
not here.

Possible?
maybe some day
not this day

not while the NRA rules
and young men are the first ones sent to the front as fodder
while old men collect pensions and lifetime salaries

things might change if we sent senators and congressmen to the front
after they declare wars on other countries

Premium Member Wise Or Foolish

Kind
person
will think twice
before speaking
lest an unkind word should hurt another.

Wise person will think a half-dozen times
before texting
pictures to
young girl
once.

Smart
person
who values
his privacy
will not share his secret thoughts foolishly.

Some Congressmen seem to leave their brains home
with families
and forget
they’re still
nerds!

Premium Member A Double Shot

When bullets fired doubly fly

Passers by will doubly die

Murder mayhem in the town

Two more victims spiral down

One shot one kill or so they say

Full metal jackets twice today

Crimson stains on every round

Two more victims in the ground

Changes in the law are needed

Congressmen have never heeded

Once we pass it on the floor

Two more victims never more

* I stayed up all night watching CNN from Greece the drama of
Democracy in the USA. The result is this Senryu and a repost of
my edited poem of DEMOCRACY.

** Dedicated to all senators and congressmen and to all those
who stood their ground to defend Democracy!

Do I See a Trend Beginning
By Franklin Price

Do I see a trend beginning
In the town of Washington
Congressmen deserting ship of state
Has more than just begun

Many now are forced to work
Find it's not a pleasant task
To help rebuild America
Is all the people ask

Your actions are our answers
If you can't be there for us
Desert the swamp while you still can
Before we vote you off the bus

Premium Member Misuse of Power

There was once a president of strong will
Who didn't wish to swallow defeat's pill
Started an insurrection
For his power's protection
He even thought some congressmen to kill?

Fortunately, his scheme did not succeed
Thus, finally, he was forced to concede
He packed things ready to go
His ego took a huge blow
Now he has to be judged for his misdeed!

A Plea From a Disgruntled Voter

(Or Please God, Let It Be November 7th)

Dear senators, congressmen
Please hear my plea.
Your phone calls and commercials
Mean nothing to me.

Your muck-raking and mud-slinging
Go from night until noon.
This election could never
Be over too soon

Please understand, I've made my decision.
I don't need your e-mail or phone inquisition.

So please can we just stop the attacks
And go give each other a pat on the back.

Premium Member Like a Hot Potato, They Pass the Buck

      The old ‘Pass-Punt-Kick’ contest
        misappropriated by politicos
     You’re familiar with the stereotype
the kind who check which way the wind blows

Like a hot potato they pass the buck
If asked a tough question, they punt
And when a financial decision looms, they
kick the can years down the road

So, fans, it seems we have a winner
535 Congressmen, each and every one a sinner
