The dullest star
the saddest sparkle in the sky;
Laughter teases what is
soft, dim, and hiding;
‘Come alive little star,
you may just light up the night.’
On Halloween, ghosts are seen,
skeletons too, they may be you,
Trees come alive at night,
Gorillas too,
They may be you.
(written by my firstborn son as a child)
Some hills come alive with a music sound.
Where I live, there are hills all around.
But listen to me. Let me tell you, bud,
The only sound these hills make is "thud".

A silenced heart
The silence that filled my heart fills my eyes with music,
My sight slowly faded
But my fingers slowly grazed across these keys,
Making this wondrous sound come alive.
