"Coach"
Crafting minds
On and off the field
Aging the mentality of youth
Conditioning the will
Helping to reach potential
He was a mean old football coach
Who always had an odd approach
His antennas were long
His mouth was all wrong
His faced featured a giant cock-roach
The score was even, nine to nine.
Coach said they were doing just fine.
The Ref tripped and fell,
released a fierce yell,
"Stick that puck where the sun don't shine!"
The Coach
By Elton Camp
The good coach was every boy’s friend
He shows them how their time to spend
He insisted they be clean
Take showers I mean
He joins them before they begin
He likes to jump up and down…
He likes to lick my hand or feet…
In every places I go…
He would always follow me…
When he was taken from me…
A piece of me was taken…
A piece that no one can fill…
Rein me in,
a hard leather pull in,
would help,
restrain me full,
whenever direction is astray,
to have a coach man,
to the coach,
you are horsing,
very few coaches have,
that luck,
that you are there is luck,
but relax the rein,
all the way,
untill my mein,
when I am allright,
and giving a true honest fight.
Working in physical education
Blond teacher had a realisation
Spotting a young boy alone
Standing all on his own
Her curiosity, frustration
Young man, why are you all on your own
To the others, why are you disowned
Well, I'm not the teams sweeper
I'm their bloody goalkeeper
Please Miss Coach, it's time you went home
<*>
I can teach you to compete
without wearing fangs
Or train you to cheat
without feeling pangs
I can insist you accept defeat
and lose graciously
Or demand you win at all costs
even playing dirtily
I can teach you 'Nice Guys Finish Last'
and the final score is everything
Or assure you it's only a game
not an idol for worshiping
Dearest Santa
Santa I am giving you plenty of time
To get me what has been playing on my mind
That is a horse and coach like Cinderella
But most of all I want a charming fella.

Sports can summon within you the star
the player that prepares himself to professional
a being that belongs beneath balls and sweat
or water and wheels of any kind.
He who prepares people to proceed to an unimaginable level
and still has some time to laugh in sheer delight
That is who teaches and takes time out for family.
That is the real meaning of coaching.
The vocal coach will help my voice,
He’ll help me sing, it was my choice.
I turned up there with just myself,
He politely enquired about my health.
He asked if I could sing a note,
I obliged once I’d cleared my throat.
He looked and said ‘you cannot sing,
Next time you’re voice you’ll need to bring,’
I told him that was all I had
And he just said, ‘well that’s too bad!
Chat GPT or whatever AI version you prefer
Is now the go to source for all things human,
Like what to know, or do, or even say.
Like a life-coach who not only mines your data
But your potential date’s as well.
When everything we think and do
- just like this -
Is increasingly online for the world to see
And AI to use,
What is there left to do
But surrender to the Borg.

Speak a present spell
I am healthy; at peace
My situation aligns
The cosmos answers
I am in abundance
My cup overflows
Cuhioned by crises
The cosmos answers
I am a pure maestro
Poetry writ often
Spells with words
The cosmos answers
I am a critical thinker
Morphing lived reality
Into options untapped
The cosmos answers
I am a Coach to many
Searching for direction
In dental careers and life
The cosmos answers
the pumpkin coach pulled up next to the eerie haunted manse
A footman leapt off of the driver’s seat, with nary a glance
The ghoul who exited gave us a high five and a tiny dance
Before she leapt into party mode and lumbered off in a prance.
It was Hallow’s Eve night, in the city, for sure.
The goblins and witches were heading in, not so pure.
Ghostly entities would not wait for the party to occur.
They were as excited as their furry familiars who purr.
We sit in the stands and cheer for your teams...
And we see all that you give and we understand what the word sacrifice means.
You coach our sons and daughters and you give them quality time...
And you help them discover great work is done between five and nine.
You're a hero to many and a friend to a lot...
And you'd probably do it if you didn't get paid or not.
Thank you coach for all you do...
The success of our kids is a tribute to you.
