Barn-ward we heard the reindeer's sneeze.
Smells of nutmeg and clove in the breeze.
With Santa stuck in the John,
From dusk till about dawn,
Looks like we gave Big Red too much cheese....

smiling gently to herself
she is on the path of pinks

come to the midday calling
but she is off to somewhere

Pumpkin Pie

Warm fresh, aromatic…
nutmeg, cinnamon, clove(s)…ssss….

Butter crust,
hand mixed,
hand rolled,
by a 100 year old pin.
Loved on,
by the cook.

Flakes of heaven,
peeled away from
the perfection found
only at Grandma’s house.

Grandpa smiles,
and we all laugh.
Tradition!...

I want so much to be with you
To do all the things that you do
And for you to do all that I do too
Everything that is, it's true
Share a clove down riverside
Tell you all my heart, not hide
My deepest thoughts in anymore
Like I had to do before
But let you read me like a book
Word by word, you've got first look
Into the playlist that is me
With you, complete now, full I'll be...

a scent
        of clove,
the promise
      of rain
fragments
           of frost
in spirals
         of light:
sounds of
         laughter
interludes
        of quiet,
specks of
          dust,
optical
         illusions
in days
     of delight

Without a voice it cannot sing
No echos in the heart will ring
Come read,contemplate,give it time
Euphony ,floats on tides of rhyme....

Spicy as clove

Happy now
Touching somehow

Garlic
Poetry in essence
Grab a bunch of garlic
peel each clove
slice in half and remove the bitter green
drop in large glass
add a large slice of butter
a good squeeze of honey two shots of Disorronno
a little white wine with some dry ginger
nuke it till the garlic's soft
add a touch of cheese and serve it
with tooth picks
dip Italian bread in the juice
If that doesn't make you like garlic
Nothing will...

Love Poem #9

This lavender sky
should smell of its colour,
or lilac,
or rose,
not of this rotten fish
stale beer and human piss.

This drawing dusk
should smell of spice,
nutmeg and clove,
and fill me,
sated;
not this emptiness,

longing for the scent of you.

I exaggerate.

You are within me, your
self
exuding from my pores.
I taste you on my skin,
as I dream
of just your tender kiss....

Autumn's Writhing
So spake it benighted and call it sad
For thy dulcet dreams man never had
With dreams ephemeral and longings eternal
What pain doth bring if spring's art vernal?
Longing for the river in love's wishing rove
Dancing light shimmers abreast a kissing clove
Happiness shan't part nor need feign
Prithee thy heart heft; bereft of pain
For the kisses in dew and her heart is thine
The blossoms are beau when our lips entwine...

Petals of flowers at night so cold
Out in the garden shine, not fold
Enveloped by your caring, caressing to grow

Tons of love you shower to grow
Reams in dreams of clove roll in the cold
Your song in the garden echoes, not fold

Steaming with beams of love, not fold
Over the grasses that bloom and grow
Unveiling your harvest in gold, not cold

Pure and plushed hearts, not cold and do not fold,
  in your soul that grow...

Honey of a Ham
That was a honey of a ham dinner
All that salt won’t make you thinner
Smear on the raisin sauce
Don’t forget the salad that you toss.

Cut and boil up some string beans
Never bake them by any means
Boston bake beans goes in a crock pot
but you’ll be tooting quite a lot.

The ham needs some clove for added taste
But don’t add salt, it’s not good for our waist
Your wife cooked this meal and added a lamb
Never tell her she’s a honey of a ham...

That Night
Had courage been concealed that night
When I could but yield at the sight
Of your tender eyes and lovely lips
That pushed me miles along waves in ships…

Had courage failed to keep its way
When despite my fear I heard you say
A few words to comfort me
That I then thought would set me free…

Does courage melt as it did then?
With the warmth of your touch behind the curtain,
You clove after coming closer
Keeping tears and a heart to solder…

Way To Lace the Blues
Way to lace the blues

They could be so hard in your care,
So leave the burdens to their bear’.
Then watch them disgrace?

Should them in their lots are the God,
So will the heavens know no shod?
Thus uphold His grace!

Live life and withhold not your love;
For your mode models you a clove.
Mean well to all race!

Blues as they, are must overcome.
Walk your light heart through earned welcome.
Way to tie the lace!

Premium Member Forsaken Spiderwebs
Our home was lit with autumn's spicy scent.
Now spent are the forms that had something to hold:
votive molds, photo frames, vases.... forsaken.

The form within my breast, too, is forsaken,
no longer pressed against your Old Spice scent.
Once, we had each other to hold....

Now memories are the substance we hold.
Your sloughed skin dust is not yet forsaken;
a whiff remains of seasonal clove scent....

Forsaken spiderwebs hold your signature scent.
