Premium Member George Baily-It's a Wonderful Life
Told he was worth more dead than alive,
A wingless angel changed George's perspective.
Had George not been born, his town would be Hell.
When Clarence earned his wings, it rang a bell....

Trump Spread Out
Trump Spread Out

Trump would some spread out like a  sparrow;
Then he had covered it up with his  sombrero;
Found on file;
Monkey  trial;
Does believe he is related to Clarence Darrow.

My Father, the Carnivore
My father was stellar, made
Prohibition whiskey in the cellar,
put oil of the olive in the center
of his avocado, was no Clarence
Darrow, but was catnip to women,
left some in sorrow, ate prime
red meat like Ribeye and Porter-
house, saved his T- bone at dinner
not for Spot our terrier, but for me,
darling daughter. Now, wasn't
that curious? Not to mention
a bit spurious. A bone for his
daughter, for Spot, Not!...

The Intelligence We Evince
The intelligence men evince
Is what should others convince
That they have been working hard since,
Now and again, from sure pains wince;
Not Radiance of the king's Clarence:
The White Dependent on Black Prince
But Legendary Night Nurse Florence
Whose story still place hands on chins...

The intelligence we evince
Should make us, if need be, words mince,
To, later, our stained lips rinse:
Like Death-dodging Galileo had,
Not ashamed to sing like a lad......

National Saxophone Day
In the midst of all this chaos
When frustration’s only grown,
Let us pause to stop and listen
To the lovely saxophone.

Adolphe Sax was its inventor
Back in 1846
And his instrument remains
One of musicians’ favorite picks.

Charlie Parker, Clarence Clemons,
John Coltrane and Kenny G
Are a few whose sax renditions
Have made music history.

So forget this doomed election.
Take a breath and clear your head
With the melancholy musings
Of a saxophone instead....

Bedford Falls
George Bailey taking the icy plunge,
Clarence saved him being his guardian,
a close call,
for Bedford Falls,
saved town from tyrannical bug,

The heartwarming scene at the end,
where townsfolk contribute a dividend,
hearing a ring,
angel got his wings,
poor Uncle Billy's pink slip pending,

George's life finally on the upswing,
till Uncle Billy forgot one more thing,
work in his briefs,
townsfolk red cheeks,
indecent attire thrown in the clink.

Hiding In the Rock
I am hiding in the rock of Christ, my Savior;
I am hiding in the rock of Christ today.
I know I'm in the shelter of His keeping;
Where He leads me I will follow all the way.
He died upon the cross to save the sinner;
He arose, and now He sits in heaven above.
I am hiding in the rock of Christ my Savior;
I am safe within His wondrous arms of love.

Words and music copyright by Samuel Billheimer, approximately 1956.
Dedicated in his memory, April, 2014, by his son Clarence....
