The old man got a doggy
He should have got a froggy
The doggy chews
The old man shoes
When it rains his feet get soggy
Lolita lady
With a little lollipop,
She simply can't stop
Her urge to shop til' she drops,
As she chews the bubble gum.
Beaver

Beaver's teeth are sharp
Chews down trees to build a house
Think he gives a dam?
Where are you sister?
Ground chews sweet leaves
Wind fans fall tree particles.
Sufis whip up Lily air.
I know the Loves are always.
Breakfast starts
and coffee brews,
cat gets milk
and tender chews.
Oatmeal, eggs,
a fruity riot,
teapot whistles,
house still quiet.
My patient is sure he’s a mutt
I tell him he isn’t a nut
He pants like a dog
And chews on a log
I wish he’d stop sniffing my butt
Buddy brings in a stegosaurus bone
My husband and I both yelp and groan
Chewing so hard now, there is a bit of foam
While my husband chews, I write this poem
now is glare caged and pasted dry
where once wet opened drapery skin so wide
moments stubble the truth even as it chews
on dreams stored in eyes’ dark crawlspace
peering out over
the tree on whose leaves he chews . . .
the gentle giant

For Tania Kitchin's Wild Animal Haiku Poetry Contest
In a dandelion clump sits a dirty dog
his muddy paws could rival that of a hog
what he chews will remain forever a mystery
for he swallowed it before I got a chance to see
The coveted used;
The tragic blues;
Purple dramas;
Captivating dilemmas;
Harley cruel;
Tangent brew;
Chocolate chews;

monsters groan hair in wrinkled gnaws…
hell chews hope in gnashed cash…
greased volcanoes sire rising screams…
burn of cyanide and bunkers reich…
flags star stud the roar of flames…
Growing Glitch in Moscow Mitch
What we found was a growing glitch,
That would appear in Moscow Mitch;
Chews his cud;
Real dumb dud,
Then it tight together he must stitch.

Chocolate, horses, barrels, mud
Hair, coats, paint, shoes, rocks, flags, washtub
Dried old leaves with dead flower bud
Brown is with us
In pasture Jersey chews her cud
Near bull's mean cuss

Let’s give him the nickname of Sayles.
In suit, he does chomp at his nails.
Preoccupied schlub
gnaws down to the nub.
A shame as he chews at details.

Wow! True story!
Mints,chews,pontefract cakes
Toffee whirls & chocolate flakes
french bonbons & jelly beans
Liquorice lace & peppermint creams
Confectionary to bring sweet dreams
And waistlines bursting at the seams.
Hare trapped in a bubble,
Too pained by the capture;
Yet chews its last supper.
Even joy precedes pains—
stop your stare,
dare to help.
Though I err,
spare some love,
wipe my tear.
The stiff neck from counterfeit blues…
I read about that in the news.
A guy from Sao Paulo
said he too can’t swallow,
but feels pretty good when he chews.

Response to John Read's Deflated
we are two little goody two shoes
eating our yummy good dog chews
we sit and stand , when asked by Laura Loo
you should have a doggie to pat when your blue
to snuggle and huggle close to you, too.

Christ carries cross
want wakes wisdom
mantis mauls mate
music makes merry
sun sparkles snowman
thinking takes time
fear frames future
ivy interlaces iochroma
caterpillar chews cottonweed
rain reflects rainbow
sin stimulates sickness
everyone eats
everyone chews
tails are flicking
whoobe whoo woose.
chomp chomp chomp
flick flick flick
barn has lots of women
they like their farmer slick
pull pull pull
our udders are full
where is that blasted farmer?
for our pull? pull? pull?
Under the wind
of an electric fan
the old balladeer sounds
like a tired man,
blinks his bleary eyes
as fast as he can;
breath reeks of nicotine
and of stale rum,
crooning his song
with a gravelly hum,
the captive audience gossips
and chews gum!
On a single blade of grass,
this young grasshopper chews.
Slowly letting time pass
yet always in search for
A newer, fresher blade of grass.
Hopping from yard to yard
Still this grasshopper can't surpass,
Munching on every delicious,
New, green blade of grass.
Love little dears erode to lovers as a couple
Onot chews chocolates and drinks red wine
Vague desires wish seals love with a decent kiss
Estrider passions stops on hold endearingly reserved
