Haiku
palace is static;
slum at its feet is dancing
in its carnival………

soft, dark winds
go round and round, passionate;
firmly binds
pairing lips on carousel.
hearts flit up and down.
carnival
bodies
interacting
impulsive
urges
desires
adulation our banner
red little hearts and ribbons
a carnival of our love
a merger of hearts

HM
screams echo in the dark
rich sweat floods
train turns bumpy
grab each other’s tight hugs
my shoe- on his face, mouth
CARNIVAL
Color and music
The distant noise of the crowd
“Carnival!” he cries
“Daddy won’t you take me there?”
He can’t deny his sick child
A carnival ride
Bodies floating on the air
A sensational
High, fascinating the mind;
Just don’t eat right before it.
Night fun at the fair.
A roller coaster is there.
Wind blows her hair.
He smiles, she's so sweet.
Lips meet. Love’s treat.
scarlet carnival
natures bunting waves in trees
summer bids farewell

What's the truth
Carnival?
general revelry, or
Bal masqué...?
tumultuous joy ?
Masquerade Ball ...!
Fake wellfare... !?
A carnival robot once came to town
He fell into honey and almost drowned
We ran to his aid
He thanked us first grade
After tutoring us, we’re college bound
cotton candy clouds
puffy and sweet
they look like spun sugar
reminding me of a meditative carnival
I walk in the silence
appreciating the beauty of the sky
who is winning?
me?
my bike?
the ferris wheel?
the loud carnival barkers?
or the boats?
the boy turned to see
amazed it was him
It might have been his first win
Backwater junction in a backwoods town
Rusty and creepier than a carnival clown
Timber rattlesnakes hide their slanted eyes
No one visits this woodpile, no big surprise
her wings are spun carnival glass
effervescent, ethereal, evidence of heaven’s love
she is the messenger, to sooth us ahead of time
so death will not be unexpected and unkind
her wings are spun carnival glass
effervescent, ethereal, evidence of heaven’s love
she is the messenger, to sooth us ahead of time
so death will not be unexpected and unkind
with a wedge of glass
we split the rainbow
separate colors
into organized rows
of light
they stack
like dominoes
ready to topple
should we turn the lens
My dad sure did it!
He shot all the targets down!
Pick your prize, he said.
That stuffed cat, bigger than me-
Hard walking my tiger home.
Love is lights that never stand still,
a thrill that echoes past the chill.
Shared cotton candy and smiles,
wandering through neon miles—
hearts afloat on the Ferris wheel.
Pink and white, floating in the Son’s light
The breeze makes them whisper to my delight
A carnival of blooms to announce spring’s might
In renewing all things; Nature’s way of life
Listen to poem:
Pobreleza, I made up this name as a satire to the Brazilian " Globeleza" featured at Carnival
About a beautiful young Brazilian woman who made her way up and out of the slums of Rio.
Not every river is january
not every carnival February
not all I that ask for grant
not ALL in life is real
everyplace in world is sanctuary
all hallows evening
carnival night in prospect
trick or treat at risk
