Autumn leaves,

Ruby,
Burgundy,
Lipstick,
Tomatoes;
Dead stars,
Mars,
Apples,
Cardinals.

birdfeeder, birdbath
dichotomy of choices....
doves, hummers, cardinals
butterflies, and more species
seen from kitchen window
male cardinal feeds
upon last years pepper seeds
in between rain storms
a delightful time to look
out my kitchen window pane
no cardinals feed
nor masked nuthatchers seed eat..
bare willow limbs weep

It was cloudy, cold, and raining..
one male and female
cardinals sit on the fence....
bird feeder nearby
male cardinal brings seeds fast
female takes them to the nest
pair of cardinals
sitting 'pon the red rose bush....
beaks touch, love renewed
gather nest materials
she broods, he feeds, hatchlings born
Cardinals visit
Late dusk and early dawn
Reminder of time.

my feeder is your buffet~
eat and sing thank you

Bird Seed for Everybody
joy in birdspeak this morning
cardinals, robins and a sparrow
hopping around collecting birdseed
squirrels have ruined all feeders
I saturate driveway with it now
How many cardinals can appear in one day?
I relish the pinks, the reds, their feathered heads
A robin flies in, landing sharply on a little branch
Shaking the bird feeder, making the world smile
Afternoon Hours
Dreamed cardinals bring
Flashes stunning carmine gleams
Soul flutters wings, too
