He breaks your heart
  Tears you down and apart
Lip buttoned, your kid shuts you out
Where to turn, How to start...

Extra patience is called for
   It's a waiting game

Get Well Soon
I'm the drive behind the man,
That does the job, to pay the doc,
Whose beady eyes are on the clock,
With pen and pad there in his hand,
As my wife splutters out her shock,
Reclining on his buttoned couch,
450 buck’s an hour, Ouch!...

Premium Member For talking too much in class, we've buttoned your lip
For talking too much in class, we've buttoned your lip.
If the teacher does ask you to talk, here is a little tip.
You unbutton your lip just like a button on your shirt.
The first few times, you may feel a little hurt.
So be gentle, so your lip ~ doesn't rip....

Premium Member Unbuttoned
As he unbuttoned her blouse
he soon became aroused
She unbuttoned his shirt
and took off her skirt
He didn't know about her spouse

Then the doorbell rang
It was her husband Stan
He buttoned up his shirt
She pulled up her skirt
he went out the window and away he ran...

Premium Member The Moon Knows Huitain
The Moon knows never to gossip,
keeping secrets close to the heart;
Buttoned up tight whispers don’t slip,
nothing pries what’s sacred apart;
Never one with an aimless dart,
brazen wishes know where he stands;
A loaded plan cannot outsmart
credence the cosmos understands....

Close Your Eyes and Listen To the Music
Close your eyes and listen to the music,
Coming from my semi-precious soul.
If you touch my dream, you`ll make me lose it.
Go and go on falling like a stone.

My sharp tongue is not for summer flowers.
I am buttoned as my moon is left.
And your long-lied letters lacking vowels
Are not readable but being kept....

Sunflower Harvest
She wants to warm him like the sun,
Heal his hurts with a whisper.
She wants to seal her lips with his smile,
And show her devotion,
In a million silent ways.
She will be his buttoned up confidante,
Gently trustworthy,
Just so she can stay his quiet darling of spring
And forever bloom in his direction.

In Season
Youthful hair blows free,
Flows wild as the sea,
Soft as toes against the sand.
The days grow hazy;
The sun grows lazy;
Too soon, skin is fully tanned.

Too soon, school bells ring;
Grown up kids they bring;
Buttoned neatly are their clothes.
Crunchy leaves will fall,
Ripened harvests call,
Seasons come and then they close....

buttoned up tightly
black iris maiden
smoky extrapolation of time
dancing along in rhythm

guarded by black cameo
pierced, not pampered
silent, stoic, revealing nothing

black iris maiden,
resigned to her fate
greeting no one
smoky memories

hazy not helpful
hurt beyond recognition
dragged to doctors
silent, stoic, revealing nothing...

Do You
Is your shirt buttoned up too tight? Are your pants up in your crotch? Do you live in your mothers basement? Do you keep that corduroy jacket with patches on it elbows back from when you thought you had something original to say? Do you have tenure in a local community college? Well then, you might just be an over-educated, low IQ, poetry critic.

Bella Vista 1
A figurine par excellence
An angel with brilliance
Dusky looks heavenly
Couture cools celestially
Damsel or diva delighting
Belle boldly bewitching
Svelte, slender and stylish
Dwells in a den so lavish
Luscious lips and aroma
Enticing is Lord Minerva
Dazzles in buttoned shirt
Glitters in gown and skirt
Any garment suits superb
Brassiere bikini or just garb..!!...

Anniversaries
Red letter days
give birth to each other
like pregnant goldfish.

Once again
the red circled hides its face
on the far side of the fridge.

Dates clog the cyclic notches
on my prayer wheel of anniversaries.

I hear an untimely cuckoo
in every paper window.

I need buttoned down numbers
that don't skid off
the expressway of things to remember
every time I see a squirrel....

All Change
Climate changed into just weather.
We watched it happen,
watched the meth-maidens and the hookers
turn pale and ill
Senators secretly paying their motel bills.
Denials fling insults at each other,
It's election fever
and we are fools or establishment tools.
Picking sides is a choice between lies
yet go vote anyhow
you're fully vaccinated now
buttoned-up tight
nothing bad could possibly happen - right?...

Randy
There once was
A man
named Randy
Night after night
I gave him candy.......

I fell for his
republican
demeanour
It actually made me
Keener

I loved his buttoned
Up shirts
and this is what
drove me
to flirt....

His trifling stare
All his grey hair
Added even more
flare

I begged him to love
me
I begged him
to hug
me....

To which he grinned
and said much
To my chagrin
I need no wife
I have a life!...

ran the bath and fingers through my hair
I buttoned my blouse and my lip
no longer in love, no longer care
ran the bath and fingers through my hair
wanted to soak away hurt not talk and swear
needed to relax my heart and close the zip
ran the bath and fingers through my hair
I buttoned my blouse and my lip

Lilac bush full
          spring's ties to nature's core
Buds that kidnap smell
Sweet layers of scent weaponry
Panoply burst of blooms
           modesty displaced
Flower cradles barely hinged by gravity

Purple bunches
that color the center of consciousness
            sweeping away grassroots complaining
sweeping off a time drifting to cruelty
freeing the buttoned restraints of love...

Raven Boy
He exits the egg sable and glossy.
Eyes clear, wide, bottomless.
Puckered skin shrouds spiked limbs.
Years of tears soak the tattered yolk sac.

The mask is fastened, buckled,
buttoned and stitched.
There is safety behind the leather.
Smile through beak and feather.

Wings span above street and house.
Talon and tool sharpen and flex.
The soft ones sleep inside, locked and warm.
But he has ways.
And he can problem solve.
With the best of them....

Premium Member Love Sublime
He pushed all the right buttons
To gain access to her heart
And then he broke it
Ripping the threads of love apart
Leaving her in tears when he split

She buttoned up her broken heart
And refused to let anyone in
Lest the tender thoughts she might impart
Cause her heart to be broken once again

The emotional buttons of her heart loosened over time
Her heart began to trust and love again
Bringing her sunshine instead of rain
Joy instead of pain
As she found a love sublime...
