A wooden vessel,
Buffeted by seething waves:
Treacherous waters....

Butterfly
Pretty butterfly,
Resting your wings,
Buffeted by breezes,
Is your thin reed.
Soon you will fly again,
Into the sky,
Innocent are you,
Of what tomorrow brings....

Exile Contest
Her cryptic change overnight,
Left her in a barren land,
Scorned, buffeted, disregarded
Contemplating death.

Life: An Acrostic
Like leaves we are, clinging on to dear life
In a world buffeted by winds and storms
Forever struggling to fit diff’rent norms
Even losing sometimes amidst the strife.

Beneath Mima's Canopy
Graying clouds, faces
Sprinkled with tears of sorrow...
Deepening thunders
Howling winds, braces
Buffeted by ghastly breath...
Trembling ropes and spikes
Blowing rains, vases
Overturned near grave diggers...
Strewn flower petals
Clearing skies, races
Blanketed the pink coffer...
Gifting her gray vault
Waning tears, faces
Leaked with canopy waters...
Tossing earth within...

The Ceiling and the Wall
In one dark corner they met
It was a meeting they both will never regret
For the ceiling a little rough around the edges
was a shelter for the wall
And the wall was the support for the ceiling and all
Their endearment for each other was not without gains
for out of it came sunshine filled window panes
The ceiling buffeted the blows of the elements of life
While the wall stood the strain with joy
and sorrow of every day strife...

A Different Kind of Love
Through our poems we touch
each other's inner light
Thousands of miles seperate us
Yet the attraction is very strong
Our spirits have touched
who can forget that?
Our bodies are buffeted by the powerful
winds of lust and love
Heat rising from both of us
Cuts through the winter night
like a sharp hot knife through butter
We can't repress thses feelings
I know that sure enough we will enjoy
A special joy - meant just for us...

On a Photograph From Singapore
You become Raffles and its Long Bar.
Better, I'd imagine, than it needs,
or probably deserves.
Happy, fair,
tanned loveliness with a dash of sauce
and a hint, I think, of innocence.
Had I noticed that before?
Melbourne today is cold and squally.
Now where I look is stained with sallow sunshine
then buffeted by gloom thicked winds
then still.
Then lashed by rain then still again.
And all about are sodden drifts of autumn.
I wish you were here....

Futurecast
A sirocco greeted me
rushing past in heated blasts
my maps had ruined her weekend.
I sought the cool glare
of the new receptionist
only to be buffeted by
the nor’east gale
emanating from the office
of the station manager.
I gazed into the future
cast my lot with Wednesday
“warm, sunny, idle breezes”
Repeating it every hour
on the hour.
A flood of complaints
deluged the station.
I left the building
in an elevator
“partly rowdy
with no chance of shame”.
