A Lone Star Pun
A cowgirl got bucked off her horse
And flew through the air with some force
A prickly pear
Caught her right where
A lack of chaps caused her remorse!...

Sink
as the cruise ship begins to sink
the man's face color starts to turn pink
he laid eyes on his mark
jump on the back of a shark
who bucked, throwing him onto a plank...

Stubborn As a Mule (Sijo)
Mule kicked and bucked so high, its
hind legs seemed to reach the sky...
Suffering from many a thing, but vowed
to suffer war no more,
Soldiers differing with the stubborn
beast, learned to sit in peace......

She rode with him to Shebuktoo

she rode up and down the hilly concourse
riding shot gun like on his big white horse
when he shot his gun high in the air
a huge blast of shouts shook the pair
in frenzy she bucked, too, arriving with a force

Broken
Broken

Like a wild stallion,
that will not be saddled, spitting the bit,
I bucked and threw every rider
galloping toward the infinite open...

With nostrils flaring, mane blowing,
it was a brief sprint of being harnessed to no one;
Until, as all dreams, I was stopped at the fence
only to be led back, by a lead, bridled and broken.

Learn To Listen
What a mess
I must confess
I made of my own life
Immaturity can be
A dull and painful knife
Advice was given readily
Wisdom came like tides
Warned of dangers far and near
That trap young hearts like mine
Stubborn as a mule can be
I scoffed and bucked
So foolishly
Looking back
I made a fuss
Over things now
Old like dust
If I'd listened
If I heard
Words of love
I thought absurd...

Premium Member Painter of Widows and Orphans
beautiful red headed bucking star
brilliant whorls- green aurora eyed
quick minded sprinting faster than light
thought I could tame it-bring it to the knees
but she's also a teaser, artist supreme
painter of widows and orphan dreams
she bucked me off like all the rest
into a black wall of red star regrets
here we lie broken, gazing at the sky
praying for another chance for a
wild bucking star ride...

Digging In
going to grasp you tight
hold on for the wild ride
dig my feet in
get ready to begin again
like a bronc from the chute
excitement awaits
clutching the rope
grabbing on to hope
let's take this wild ride

one hand in loop, one free in the air
I may hit, face first, before the horn's blare
eight seconds feels like hours
as I ride and get bucked
but I hold on tight
clutching the rope
grabbing on to hope
let's finish this wild ride...

Premium Member Riding his Balloon Animal
Larry was riding his balloon animal to Tracy Town.
The balloon animal threw him off, onto the ground.
He got back up and said “Let’s do this a different way”.
The balloon animal bucked him off again, that very day.

So Larry got a needle and chased the balloon animal away.
Down the hill the balloon animal ran, then swam across the bay.
I wish I could follow you, Larry said with an intense frown.
But I think I will just travel by myself to Tracy Town....

Premium Member I Was a Sitting Duck
I was a sitting duck when the tide came in.
No idea it would go past my chin.
I struggled and I flopped.
I bucked and I hopped.
It took me way out to sea.
I went under quickly, poor little me.

But a dolphin came along and gave me a push.
That old water threw me up in a whoosh.
I found myself all safe and sound.
To say thanks I looked all around.
But the dolphin was gone with a flip and a wink,
And I resumed washing dishes in our old kitchen sink....

Premium Member Cold War Clientele - Benguet Province, August, 1978
My thumbs pressed on the trigger.
The M-2 bucked its load.
I squinted down the barrel
And watched his head explode.
An early morning ambush,
A steaming Luzon hell,
For Ferdi and Imelda,
Our Cold War clientele.

The mission was generic:
Suppress the NPA*.
It didn't really matter
Just who got in the way.
I carried out my orders
And did what I was told,
But Christ, the kid I wasted
Was only twelve years old.
