To Want From Someone Who Has No Intention To Give
I've come to want to lend
My brother a helping hand
But I do not know when
How, or if I can
The yearning on his face
For the simplicity of love
The friend I wish to embrace
My brother I can't replace...

I,Myself
Jun-jun
A son, a brother, a friend and a lover,
A brother of Richard, Jay-Ar and Ralph,
A lover of love, wealth and hardworks,
Who feels afraid, desolate and helpless,
Who fears death, blood and demonic sins,
Who would like to see you,"heaven and earth",
Resident of Batangas City,

The Family Man
There was a man, calm and collected
With a kid, a dog and wife well connected;
He was a brother, a father, a man
And like any other he too was defected

A family man loved and well to do
But he had a problem, he lived in his shoe;
He would run and meet up a shrew
Greet hello the way lovers do...

Premium Member The Redneck Reindeer
Rudolph had a brother, a redneck deer named Bart.
His nose only glowed when he would sneeze or fart.
Rudolph got sick; Santa had to call on his brother.
Bart came with pepper in one hoof and a can of beans in the other.

The June Melancholy
The sun was up and the moon sank To great my brother a happy birthday We smiled and rocked, we ate, we drank To convince my brother of a lovely day Until five clocked when we heard a sound Which made us stop our delightful play The police knocked, arrested for disturbance. This suddenly turned out a bad day

Innocence
Innocence
You entered my room. I cringed at your sight. I knew you would soon become,
The monster of the night. I closed my eyes tight, maybe you would fade away. But instead you stole my innocence away.
My mother took in her brother, a stray. He slept in the basement isn't that where all creepy things lay?

To My Brother, a True Teacher
Ah who will follow Seamus
And walk where he has been
From 28 Mellows Avenue
To football on the green.

I could not take the road he
chose
From Finglas to East Wall
A dedicated life to those
Not ready to heed the call

To step outside the comfort
zone
what they believe is
preordained
To light the lamp in fertile
minds
So long entrapped in traditional
chains...

Heading Home
I'm a teenager in a convent boarder's uniform, wool coat buckled tight.
Brother a college student in town, both heading home for the weekend. Holding tight to his waist, leaving all stuffiness behind as we speed off on his motorbike.

green fields fly by us

we will take the back roads home

             rebels with a cause

Strong Man
I am a strong man

I fight
I'm loyal
I love

I'll work until my hands bleed
For what my family needs
I'll defend until my death
As I take my last breath

My loves
My family
My friends

I'm a husband, brother, a son
I've become, a father, a grandfather
I'll tell you what I think
And not blink

I'm loving,
I'm kind
I cry

But don't cross me
For you will see
I will be
Your worst enemy

I am a strong man...

Samuel Wamuel, Pirate Cat with a Yo Ho Ho Ho
Steered his ship through the island of Want a Go Go
With salty western winds on his lip, and his heart full of woe
He traveled the Seven Seas as some of us foreigners know.

Other pirate ships would spot us and yell “oh, no! No!”
Samuel Wamuel’s reputation was not a bit slow.
He’s not all that bad said his child, name of Chloe.
Oh, yes, he is said his brother, a bad boy named Joe....

Premium Member Marble In Columns On Green
On a slope graced with green
White marble stands in proud salute

For beneath these engraved pillars of memory
Lie the resting places of heroes

A solitary green fir looks down
As if sheltering the lost and the taken

So many names, from all walks of life
A father, brother a girlfriend or wife

On a sunny day, they glow radiant like their lives
On a dull day, they stand out against the greys

For the living, life goes on
Tomorrow is another day...

Shane
Desperate to reach success
Desperate to live,
Cold and kind
Desperate to give.

Gentle and Rough
Two worlds apart,
Strong, fearless
A man with heart.

In touch with himself
A brother, a son,
Music in his veins
A lonely one.

Eyes of blue
That tell the truth,
Misunderstood
His words are few.

Desperate to play
Desperate to love,
For just to sing
Is not enough.

The man I know
The world cannot tame,
The strong-spirited man
Who I call Shane....

Premium Member city dogs used to city sounds
Dancing singing windchimes
Motorcycle engine in the distance
Breezy day warmed by immensely hot sun
I sit barefooted on my porch, gulping vitamin D
One dog lies curled at my feet
A regal shepherd great Dane mix with an oversized head
His adopted brother, a frenzied retriever, walks over chewing something
Could be walnut, plastic, rubber, toy, match, band-aid or glass
Screeching siren sound advances
Neither dog moves
City dogs
Living a country life
Used to city sounds...

Once a Soldier
once a soldier, a brother a spouse
a father, a buyer, the head of a house
one winter month on a Valentine's day
a very long time since you went away

a son, a lover, an ornery pest
a fixer, destroyer like some of the rest
blamed it on battles, long over- hard fought
scars there are many from turmoil they brought

a legacy of anger and one of despair
a legion of others who've also been there
a memory that lives, well instilled in a child
maybe not deserved, but given with smiles...
