Brilliant bright brazen Brazilian Brutus brokered brave
Broomsticks bragging beyond bellowing birch branches
Bypassing bitty bites brought on by bystanders.

Migration of the Monarchs

drowsy cricket songs
call orange-black wings to rest
on yellow ragweed

hunting with broomsticks
bent coat hangers and cheesecloth
we chase summer dreams

Witches in dark shadows,
Waving spells with their wands,
Whisper mystical chants,
With Broomsticks fly in nights,
With Secrets held in hoods,
Woods echo their laughter.
would you eat Cauldrons brew?

Halloween

Haunted houses
an arrow through the skull
laughing witches on broomsticks
leering black cats
Orange pumpkins with fiery eyes
wild costumes
Every scream frightens
every breath electrifies
Now~~ BOO!

In Flight For a Contest

High up they all went,
Made with nylon and broomsticks,
Attached to a string,
We'd see whose could go highest,
It snapped and we chased along.

jiggly wiggly broomsticks on fire
show us the devil’s kitchen said a sweet lyre
hickelty diggelty shimmy sashay
Halloween night is one evening away
The cauldron was happy to hear the witch’s song
It won’t be long, she sang to herself. It won’t be long!

blackened sun, miniaturized pencil-point, glued
to an expanse where pillow-clouds once lay in repose
caftaned, toothless droids on broomsticks whiz by, cackling

anvil-hot, clay-red rains scald cracked turf, vapor rising up
where phantasmagoric ice-pellet fireworks burst in the night

~ darkness and death descend -- the final curtain

The full moon is nigh...
Time for the ghosts and goblins
        To come and join us.

The black cat walks on
the path that we shall not cross
~ that path is bad luck.

Those seeking candy
    disguise themselves frightfully
~ scare it out of us.

Witches on broomsticks
    flying across the full moon
       ~ Happy Halloween.

Premium Member Can You Hear My Glad Sigh

Witches, owls, broomsticks, and bumble bees.
Peace signs, flower power, just a tease.
Princesses with crowns riding on their steed.
Steampunk Annie, rabbits, and bird so treed.

Gardens galore with flowers from every seed.
Mushroom houses and faeries, just what I need.
Dragons holding daisies, red hearts in the sky.
I am painting again. Can you hear my glad sigh?

October

Halloween rogues place outhouse upside down.
Nighttime, white sheets ghosts ride broomsticks sky high.
Felines cry topmost gates - they wail all-round,
while wives, mates make pleas, moans, a grief-worn sigh.
Sweet treats may stay ill used jokes - least homes try.
Porch lights turnoff - no bold gnomes, please, so late.
Take leave, new hallowed year-end night needs wait.

Halloween

A time for werewolves, zombies, bones,
For spiders, vampires, ghosts and bats,
Blood curdling shrieks and chilling moans,
Of walking corpses, witches’ cats,
See scuttling beetles, ghouls and rats.

Old warlocks chant and banshees cry,
The carved out pumpkins light the way,
And broomsticks soar across the sky,
As shrivelled mummies flaunt decay:
It’s Halloween or All Souls’ Day.

Avarice of Adam

We mere mortals,
Are but temporal beings.
Drowned by the wine of luxuries
That life has to offer.
That being said, still suffices not
(Countless, numerous sins ongoing
Creating, still dreaming
Of robots never-ending)
The forgotten warmth near the fireplace
And those which are eternal
Just to be swept away
By the broomsticks of the witch,
Just to be blinded by the lust of ambition.

Premium Member Three Teen Witches

three teen witches skipped into our little hamlet
Trying to catch them were my cousins Brett and Chet
The witches disappeared before their faces I guess
They spoke of it for years, said my cousin, Tess.

Did you see them too? I asked Tess, hopefully.
I was across the square, you can’t swear by me.
How did they know they were witches? I asked her.
Pointed hats, broomsticks, and they could disappear.

On Halloween Night

Oozing greens,
Dressed-up teens,
Headless people, there are few,
Witches on broomsticks, what are you?

Knock on the door,
Candy galore!
Every kind,
And then some more!

You might wake the dead,
They might steal your head,
Fodders, Ghouls, Goblins, and Ghosts,
Mess with them and you'll be toast!

Get to bed,
Before the dead,
Stay inside,
where you can hide,

And don't be seen,
On Halloween...

Witches so surreal
Silhouettes upon the moon
Flying on broomsticks

Jack-o-lanterns : smile
Through the flames of Hell, inside
Feigning , frightful sighs

Spooky ghost run by
On moonless Halloween nights
I, cower in Fear
