The Seventies

summers that tasted to me like youth's freedom
bridge over troubled waters topping the chart
how soon I would come to understand

A Tribute To Paulie S and Artie G

Hello darkness my old friend
I have come to you again..
running over something ..
that being a Bridge over troubled water
and in my footsteps I am thinking ...
This is the sound of silence.. "

Forgiving Doesnt Mean Forgetting

Forgiving Doesn’t Mean Forgetting Haiku: by Miracle Man November 15, 2021 Everyone’s treated unjust at some time in life; forgive and move on. “He who cannot forgive others destroys the bridge over which he himself must pass.” George Herbert

Spilt Milk

With over forty
years apart
let’s pretend
it’s just a day
That time we’ve lost
and what it cost
to ignore
and look away

We can’t tunnel
through the heartache
but a bridge over
can be built
To put behind
those days unrhymed
with tomorrow
— yet unfelt

Imagine That

Imagination is a place with no boundaries and no zipcode
Imagination is an opportunity to visit anywhere, anytime, anyhow
Imagination is a state of mind
Imagination is a way to transcend terrible circumstances
Imagination is a bridge over the mundane
Imagination is a fairway for creating solutions
Imagination is a galaxy of inventions

Who will be there

Who will be there to greet me
Across the rainbow bridge over the golden sea
Will it be my Mum and Dad
In hugs and kisses how could that be bad

Perhaps it will be a friend lost so long ago
Greeted in a handshake and slap on the back’s the go
I like to contemplate this for real
As I hope for the best in in my last earthly deal.

The Crossing Over

crossing over…

her chilled breath
caressed my cheeks

no reddening here
just a darker ebony hue

the color collage
of foliage

canvassed my eyes
falling rainbow tears

dripping to nourish
mother earth

matting
her joseph’s coat

reflected by scattered rays
peeping through shuttered skies

the bridge over the river of change
is indeed a delightful crossing

A Painted Muse

The lonely willows weep, Streaming a river of tears. Under the Giverny skies, The water lilies dance, Atop the glossy surface. Reflections of peace, For the creator. The Japanese bridge arches, Posing as a lonely muse For the gifted soul of Claude Monet. ____________________________________________ "Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies" by Claude Monet

Troubled Doubled

Listen to poem:
Divers plunge into troubled waters
for diving into smooth, calm waters hurts.
Being troubled is the backdoor key
to unlocking the puzzle when you are in trouble.
Avoid the slip roads to the freeways
or the overpass or the bypass bridge.
Instead, imbibe your troubles, immerge in them,
wait for the waters to be troubled,
for double troubles played all-in
tend to cancel each other out.

Loving Pearl Softly Singing Through the Ink

An artist paints a picture out of darkness
from the seven colours of sunshine's sparkle

Divine beauties bridge over this promise made real
ocean waves unfolding white steeds galloping to shore

Kissed by the sand salted footprints remain begging
as the stream flows down a mountain faced horizon

Echos bounce within deep caves whispering winds lament
currents move tides caressing the sea fragrance

The Bridge That Leads To Nowhere

Somewhere, there is a bridge,
A bridge that has no path,
A bridge that crosses no river,
A bridge that leads to nowhere.

Somewhere, there is a bridge,
A bridge over grown and forgotten,
A bridge withered and worn by time,
A bridge hidden away from sight.

Somewhere, there is a bridge,
A bridge waiting to be discovered,
A bridge wishing to be seen as it once was,
A bridge hoping to lead to somewhere.

Shadow Town

SHADOW TOWN

A shadow town with only a past
Abandon hope all ye who cross
The black iron bridge over the smell of the Tyne
Tyres hiss on the wet road as they pass
And leave me here in the dark
Murky rain dirty roads
November in Gateshead
In the shadow of gloriously dirty Newcastle

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Note

Anyone who had the misfortune to live in Gateshead in
the 1970s will understand the feelings in this verse.

Free

Holding back sweeping leaves
In and out rhythm of breath
Warm inside cold outside
Shadows of light

Faces on trees
Cracks to see
Running wild
Crisp of leaves

Beauty of nature
Winding path
Green and brown
Up and down

Boots of mud
Still those thoughts
Ears for sound
Deep in ground

Lost no more
Branches in fall
Bridge over stream
Ripples and all

Unlock the key
Open your heart
No treasure to find
Empty of mind

Poetry

Words in odd find
Stitch new meaning
Strange craft in kind
Change hurls feeling

A bunch of words
Arrange to greet
Odd swirl now heard
Emotions meet

Bridge over thoughts
Flood of odd sounds
Rhymes puzzle plot
Break of new grounds

Flash of wordplay
Ooze and oomph curl
Stretch of odd ways
Profound feel hurls

Round the odd maze
Thought feels feelings
A pungent craze
Set poetry strings

Crossing the Bridge Over Troubled Waters

When life's over and we're done
We are called, we have no voice
Crossing is for everyone
We must go, we have no choice
The waters may be dark and deep
When crossing to other side
Those we've left may moan and weep
Contending with the changing tide
Their time will come, it could be soon
The bridge is there for crossing o'er
No longer see the Sun and Moon
Life's travels end on distant shore
There should be joy to end the race
Takes death to gaze on Jesus' face

The Music I Love

If I could live the music I love,
I would climb every mountain and swim every ocean.
I would build a "Bridge Over Troubled Waters."
And "Always Love You."

"In Case You Didn't Know," "My Old Friend,"
We traveled together on a Broken Road."
"Remember When," we would sit by "The River"?

"Every Time I Hear That Song," "I am Speechless!"
"Maybe I'm Amazed" how much you love me.
"I'll Always Stand By You!" You make me "Beautiful Crazy."
You truly are my Soulmate."

Aretha Franklin 1942-2018

Voice of an angel our wonderful queen of soul

sending out her amazing message of respect

to build a freeway of love her ultimate goal,

I knew you were waiting (for me), without neglect,

she'd say a little prayer, with amazing Grace

she thought Dr. Feelgood was young gifted and black

mend a bridge over troubled waters, or replace,

melodic vocal power showed in every track,

this is just my tribute, my small way of thanking

this natural woman, god bless Aretha Franklin.
