Notes About The Poem

The Seventies

summers that tasted to me like youth's freedom
bridge over troubled waters topping the chart
how soon I would come to understand

The end of the sixties beginning of the seventies hippies, flower power, make love not war Vietnam. What an era, not forgetting the Beatles! Line that bench is beautiful, will see many emotional tears and share happy memories. I love your poem Line. We cannot go near our cemeteries any longer, far too dangerous, as the criminal element always lurks around them. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

The seventies were absolutely my era. To me it was all about the music. Every nation on planet Earth seemed to be at war, but as a teenager, all that stuff only happened on the news. As you said, how soon I would come to understand. Profound words Line, Well done. Terry

This brings back so many memories to me, Line. Today's youngsters will never understand what we experienced in the late 60s and 70s. Thanks for sharing.
