They fought tooth and nail
To the amazement of the onlookers
With swollen hills on faces pale;
For brawls are part of night-crawlers...

Autumn declines and the Lover falls
Heroes die and duty calls
Martyrs are men who have lost it all
fighting senselessly in political brawls...

Mjolnir
The man of might delights
in challenges of brawls.
The hardships hight his heart
to falling fields of fights,
to face foemen fearsome,
seeking to hero slay,
this leman of Mjolnir....

Most astronomers gaze up at the stars
But Freddy took pretty women to bars --

   Crash into brick walls --

Silence
See you not
Violence brawls silence
In brawls of loud voice
With roars of noise
To rule as king of voice
And be enthrone in reign of voices
Through all journey of violence
Back to home it's comes
To bow, in one voice
To lord silence...

You Should Not Fear Roundelet
You should not fear,

though their brawls are so unyielding.

You should not fear,

though the deadline is very near.

Congress will raise the debt ceiling,

despite your skeptical feeling.

You should not fear.

Ice Castle Tipped Hairs
Those pink grey nights
Where grumbling echoes
of distant cars
parade with sounds of drunken
brawls
Staring at bristled
arm hairs
as ice castles form upon their tips
Night shivers through me
and each step
the next ice mask
forms
beyond the skin
that begs its touch...

Salvage yards hand me down

Clutch drive spent wheels ravages
Four-wheel drive, five-speed Savages,
all this going on in the Salvage junkyard tow yard
Just 500 feet from the freeway?

Battered
Toils and brawls hit hard herebelow
Till poetry and its bliss are forgotten;
Till the joys of rhyme totter battered
By thrusts of a world foul and rotten.

But when the last of blows
The versifier's nose all wet
Has left in crimson sutures,
This quill shall scribble yet....

Individual
One must part ways with the past
Already concluded, present is all that is left
Cease the desire which brawls cruelly with change,
For the already beaten path-
Is one not to be tread numerous times over
Step forward with unblinking eyes,
Regret nothing in one’s history,
For it has constructed the individual now trudging on
The individual of faith, hope, and drive....

Premium Member I'M Fine--Really
Have I ever told you that I have boisterous brawls with
myself over what type of tv show to watch—Greek myth,
nature, comedy, murder mystery, Covid documentary,
or science? We can never agree. So I end up writing poetry
about how this isolation is good for us—I mean ME!

My Favorite Republican
When history someday recalls
Behavior that simply appalls
They just have to reach
Those we chose to impeach
To see some who defy protocols.

Yet the record of Senate near-brawls
Will have info that sometimes enthralls
Such as votes that got split
Like the one in which Mitt*
Proved a pol in his party had balls!

*Mitt Romney, the only Republican
who voted to remove Trump from office...

The Poison
The poison that praises the phantoms of people
shall also kill the kind kin off kilter.

Be obliged to bless base bums with brevity and brawls of buffoonery
and suck the souls of the saints who sip the sweet sap of swine.

Once more I twist the tale of tempting tempestuous teas that taste of thought and torment,
and whip the wills with woe for one and all aware for my entire enjoyment....

Funeral- Ian Munywe
FUNERAL
Stop imbibing,
so much.
It is my funeral,
isn`t it?
These damsels,
will be your end.
It is my funeral,
isn`t it?
That crowd,
will be your detriment.
It is my funeral,
isn`t it?
Brawls and altercations,
cannot get you far.
It is my funeral,
isn`t it?
This is not,
the way.
It is my funeral,
isn`t it?
If that is what,
you want.
Then certainly it is your funeral,
isn`t it?

Mother
Mother suffered most in the late night brawls.
We peeped through cracks in timber walls.

Plates smashed as in movies, with shouts galore.
Us caught up in the frenzy we could not ignore.

Mother suffered most at the hands of gin,
whiskey and brandy, how could she win?

Trying to smash bottles that had been hidden.
Suffering drunken blows that came unbidden.

Mother suffered most we can't deny, but
we children carry scars from those days gone by.

Premium Member When Angels Sing
When angels sing, Heaven overflows with joy
Gentle rains nourish the earth we toil
Praises echo into eternity
Peace begets prosperity
All creation smiles

When angels cry, in silence tears fall
Darkness cloaks thunder brawls
Lightning ignites the skies
Rains drown earth as waters rise
All head in earnest prayer bow

When angels sing harmony rings
Hear the songs the winds sing
Rainbows fade and give away
To the brightness of a sunny day
All is blessed for He smiles...
