Alone again
Battling demons till the end
It’s me against them, how am I to win?
With a power bestowed upon a mortal man
One shot, one kill
 Wait for all to gather & they make your blood spill
When all begin to rip off your flesh
Wait for the last minute when there’s almost nothing left
Then make your move---only then will you prove
Your "WILL" never depleted
And you can never be defeated

An unusual tragedy
That still remains a mystery
To doctors, friends and family,
-- But not me.

And not to God most definitely
It was he –
Who had planted this disease in me
Knowing one day
I would curse his name

Prepared ahead of time
Never did I ever
Think I would sever
My faith and stray away

Showing me the error of my ways
It’s been harder than ever
To regain my faith
Again complete, I have learned

As a child, I wished for great things
For my family and I; to see a change
For once in my life but it’s still the same
I cried and tried to endure the pain
Contemplated suicide in the falling rain
Decided not to die; no pain, no gain
“It’s not your time”, is what the angels say

My body is broken and has become diseased
From all the smoking, fights and partying
My life is unfolding, taking its toll on me
Now I’m left choking on this toxic air I breathe

Go ahead and take my wife
Now go ahead and try for my life
But you won’t kill me
-- I will not die –
Cut out part of my tongue
Pull out all of my teeth
Peel back my face and watch me bleed
Dismember my shoulder
As if it were a broken boulder
I’ll say “you hit like a sissy” when it’s all over

Indeed, I have seen how strong I have to be
Everyone around is breaking down on me
My friends and family, one by one...slowly
And I’m the one with a cancerous disease
