Bones
jagged,
scabbed up skin;
But oh that fire;
Diamond in the rough;
Faded tattoos
bloody smile
simply
shine.
In a badger trap
Found with peanut butter
Contented to be nursed back to health
And sleep on the chair
Next to the dog
old bones feel winter
joyful log fire spreading warmth
lethargic comfort

bones are
a big thrill;
exploring them,

that can be
a great
help.

One slip and fall ~ it’s all over.
Broken bones won’t be the worst of it.
Bones of iron, breath of steal
Heart of love, mind of hope
Fists of fire feet of smoke
Teeth of stone, eyes of glass
Face of future, back the past

Words appear as
fire in my bones
memories like fuel on red ashes
Writing things down
cools the hot flames burning
At the end of the day
I am who I am
After their patriarch died,
sea witches circled the night.
Those left behind clung to hope
on a raft made of his bones,
until sharkness devoured the light.

Millennia of stories in
Earth’s archives;
tales told of every species.
Text book of life,
bone history class,
is always in session.
And the trees that don't turn,
stay hung on a scaffold
where green ribbons hang.
Bat wings rattle
in morning airs.
Shoes crunch down
the recently seen.
I took the punches
paying price of my convictions
like a withered rose
my pieces all over this froze
can't resist and can't let you go
I come back even when you bleed my bones
trying to keep sinking relations afloat
is like patching an old boat with stones
for certain It'll go under
sharks will move in to plunder
then crap out your miserable bones

Physical exhilaration drowns
bony aches,
emotional pain,
intellectual angst,
social discontent,
psychological drama,
hunger pangs.
Untethered my soul soars
thus my heart sings.
Burt and Ernie dwell on Sesame Street,
deep in a closet but living rent free.
When their skeletons escaped
they painted rainbows all day.
Uncle Sam slapped a big tax on their rings.
corruption in the cradle
...
bourgeois contradiction:
not just a matter of being lied to,
not just a matter of obfuscation,
or of folly, but, rather, one of being enslaved.
I'm
sunken
bones
Buried
treasures
Hidden
Coves
Come with me
sail away
For the rest
of our lives
I keep you
safe
Like a secret
Sworn
Only to be
passed on
at
death
