Iron Strong
Though the faith
he boasts about seems
unbreakable like iron,
it's iron cold, iron dead,

rusting away,
corroded by bigotry
and conceit, bloating
his self-righteous head!...

Bloom

brings buds

branching bold,

blessed by blossoms,

Cold Haikus
Look! Mingling with rain a teardrop hesitates once Ah! They didn’t see. A bullfrog just teased Bloating in its mockery A bug flies in, snap! It rolls by unseen Not even her closest friend noticed how it flows. Kokak! Kokak! Jump. Teasing and teasing kokak! All the critters laugh. © Glenn Sentes 03-06-13

New Years Eve
New Years Eve celebration
Ever so grateful of redemption
With overindulgence of consumption

Year-end celebrating
Edibles I've been craving
Aha so much champagne drinking
Recoup from stomach bloating
Swaying, light-headed teetering

Eek nightcaps of antacid
Verily, not so lucid
Eau de mornings, feeling putrid

Washed Ashore
I die over and over—
between pages—a ghost
in a world more real than my
own—drowning in ink—
willingly washed ashore—
swelling, bloating breath.

Against my nature of concealment,
I cough out the ink—everywhere—
chaos, carnality, collapse!
onto a canvas I cannot
cower from.

Who else perceives meaning there?
Who else feels the frenzy like fire?

COPLA 69 INVOCATON: This Bad Guy World

Yet the way You humiliate us
Is to make us grovelling slaves
To bloating bodies

Thank You for clothes combs and tooth brush
And the soap that barely cleans souls
And such goodies

Do we complain at every turn
Or merely stumble and give thanks
Knowing not why

Or is the lesson we must learn
Before the lights go out: Who descends
To watch us cry

Mist of Mysteries
On golden sands
between the layers of
silvery stream waves
wet quill write untold tales

Incessant gush narrates
epic in shallow voice
no presence witness
prolonged tireless task

On shrivelled shores
pebbles re read stories
to share the musing
with migrating birds.

The serene script
bloating and floating
bubbling with wishes
meandering on waves.

In its obvious merge
identity gets sacrificed
while embracing
dark ocean abyss.

Rain Club
Solemn, arcane,
Shooting, exploding
Into millions of pearls with the speed of cocaine—

Eroding, diluting,
The oaks are bloating!
They swallow the earth till the leaves are floating—

One by one the army will follow,

I must defend the rain.

Emphatic, dictatious,
Oh emperous one
For everything lives and dies in your vein—

Stock, automatic,
And overly done
To hell with applause for the rapturous sun—

Set the controls; deploy the clouds!

We must defend the rain....
