to the lake to the lake
fish to fry fish to bake
this has been moms cry
birthdays now just rye
if once we'd bring a cake.
Many years I kept you in box
Box of good memories that knocks
Birthdays come alive
Like roses in five
Candles I lit, my love that rocks!
All birthdays should be happy. God has made all of them that way
birthdays are happy
all of them will always be
do appreciate

Happy birthday to me
Makes life so sappy
Growing old by another year
Let us all celebrate and cheer!
(Birthday is Jan 28th and turning 31!)

Birthdays started wrong,
don’t have to remain that way;
but they often do.
Happy birthday Deb
on this the finest of days
a message I bring...
of those who have more birthdays
the longer it is found; live!

Every year
A new number emerges
and my body feels
the tightness
or is it the tightness
of my clothes
as I enjoy
too much birthday celebration?
Another birthday comes around
a reckoning of time
What have I done with mine ~
before too long I’ll be in the ground
smart dogs are my brown spaniels
so i named each of them daniels
but im out of my wits
cause on birthdays each sits
lighting and blowing out candles.
A birthday is a celebration
a victory in life of God
putting us on earth
it's a day to look forward to
some people say they get old,
but i celebrate being young
I never bought cuff links for my father
never knew him really
I saw him at Christmas and birthdays
for a few years early on
That ended
Father’s day, a strange, empty holiday
Birthdays, reunions, vacations and hikes.
Weddings, divorces and photos of tykes.
Vids of grandkids on their skateboards and bikes.
These are the things every cyber Friend 'Likes'!
Another Birthday
My age is something a-frightening;
it came on me faster than lightning!
As birthdays come up;
they’ll continually sum up,
but instead of so dark; it’s enlightening!
I think of childhood birthdays when
‘another year’ was always cool;
it meant a party, action men* -
and, best of all, a day off school.

I once met a guy by the name of Mort
By his record he must be very smart
At five, High School complete
College at six; a feat
A leaper; birthdays are four years apart
Submitted by Charles Sides
Seconds slide into minutes
minutes into years
Only pausing to rejoice
birthdays and graduations
weddings and deaths
Marks on the calendar
to celebrate another creaking joint
and fading memories
My birthday is coming,
so should i say when?
should i be happy or sad
or be as chipper as ever?
Does birthdays matter,
when you are turning old?
I am sure my birthday is coming...
so is it when, again?
Another year has come to pass,
your birthdays here
its here at last.
The number changed,
advanced by one
Let's celebrate and have some fun.
For it is what we must do,
cause the gift this day
was the birth of you!
Birthdays come, and birthdays go.
As you get older.
Falling quickly like white snow.
But it's always great to get a nice hello.
From those you remember, and who you gladly still know.

If it's a year divisible by four,
Then it's a year with one day more,
But the leaplings never can ignore
Far fewer are their true birthdays.

Birthdays are God's gentle reminders of our temporary existence on earth's plane!*

* I would like to thank all of you who, with your love, helped me celebrate my birthday!
Pottery jugs big and small
Flowers in abundance one and all.
Sometimes roses, lillies too,
Daisies white with a yellow hue
Birthdays weddings, anniversaries too
out comes the gug both bright and blue
To house the flowers sent by you.
Those birthdays
Beginings
Building blocks
Six to ten
Smooth sailing
Relaxed times
Turbulence
Those teen years
Adulthood?
My first Tricube poem. The length hinders but it can really open doors to thinking.
Broken arms hold a baby chewed in leprosy,
Black rain covers slit wrists,
Birthdays are rehearsals for Funerals.
The heart is a rapist
fate a faded color.
there just isn't enough candles
to go around
for the man
who stays
drunk
forever.
A super month for celebrations!
Unwrapping all those presents.
Great month for their birthdays.
Under the Virgo sign, naturally kind.
Sons to be so very proud of, always.
Twins were born this wonderful month.
