Premium Member Is This a Lie

Is this a lie?
Do you believe the truth, in fact?
Is this a lie?
Substantially, you do belie
the whale of a tale is fact-packed.
The honest truth can be sidetracked.
Is this a lie?

Royal Blood

Royal Blood communioned green on field such
Thou enemy belie within
Praying upon that which you, your hopes pin
One must plunder treasure's sin
If the new world genesis is ever to begin

Questioning the Answers

What, who, or where
 the sages portend

What, who, or where
the shamans belie

What, who, or where
 the scholars defend

What, who, or where
—not questioning why

Bemasked

Behind a happy mask
Beneath your guise of joy
Belie sweet wounded eyes
Betrothed to dreams unlived
Belayed for these few hours
Because you smile tonight

Presence of Mind

Memories so vivid
     Feelings so deep
Visceral flashbacks
     Sparked by a song

The essence of time
     Transcended
For a moment
     For just a moment

Is life linear?
     Feelings belie
Back to what is perceived
     As reality

Climate Change Baloney

Man-made Climate change now dogma, must not question nor belie
'Debate is over! close down research! it is heresy to deny'
If that's what we now call science, we've caught an intellectual cold
For it's
"Phoney baloney, plastic banana, good time rock-n-roll"

New Seeds

What you ask me to deny,
I in many ways affirm

The truth will not belie
what your apprehension spurns

Believing in myself
and the voice that speaks within

I cast new seeds into the air
—and beckon the four winds

Fatal Beauty

The evening sky aglow with color
beauty incarnate to the human eye.

         In it's mist death awaits
         as the damage we belie.

             With sins of greed
       the poisons build on high.

       Will we wake and recover
or wait and see our planet die?

Self

Self

In winters cold I found you
lost too long among the seasons
thin cold crystal dawn you arrived
frost drawn breath revealed you.

Our parting of ways now healed
belie the part of me I have denied
your face changed by the years
my past and present self now healed

PATRIOTISM

Red, white and blue ribbons with stars
surrounding my head, hand over heart

Kneeling in the Catholic pew, steepled hands
point upwards to my allegiance start

Stars kneel not to pray but to belie their point
of origin, where amber grain waves part

So many are saying things unkind, disparaging or hurting some other. Saying whatever crosses their mind, and often the truth they will smother. Often each story is slightly slanted, with a straight face, many belie. Once it’s news it can’t be recanted, and half a truth is still 100% lie.

love child appears out of the blue ~ dna sticks tight, unlike cheap screw

damage done, tied is the splice ~ heat of the moment has balls in a vice

prenuptial’s void, tightening grip ~ busted now, far too late for that snip

In Time

Time, let me know pure feelings before I die
Passion and truth’s masquerade, belie
Give life to love, beyond barren silence
Break the guarded mould of indifference.

Gift all that a serene heart does aspire
Display my genuine loyalty and desire,
My truths exposed, enchanted I’ll reside
In love, eclipsing lunar force of ebb-tide.

Shifty eyes belie camouflaged avarice, seeking a higher share of family inheritance by employing specious logic, jockeying for an advantage. The seemingly dreamy elder sips coffee, nodding in consent.

discerning eye knows
recognising wayward ways
soul smile indulgent

Magnificent forms in a world that once was black
Are bright shining orbs. There's nothing they lack
Revealing to me that life holds abundant treasure
Beyond comprehension, outdistancing all measure
Lending me chiseled vision, as through a cat's eye
Exquisite beauty is found in the clearest night sky
Stars are wondrous gifts; a fact no one can belie

Needles In the Snow

The pain of feeling helpless is so great
It pricks the heart like needles in the snow
If I could cure the sadness that you feel
With love, pure joy is all you’d ever know

Though you may smile, your eyes belie your grin
Their hazel beauty now a black tableau
I too can feel the sting of your torment
It pricks my heart like needles in the snow

Hello And Goodbye

Leavened unleavened
risen and stayed
Lost when recovered
joyful dismay

Intrinsic extrinsic
the whole without parts
Tomorrow this moment
stopping to start

Benign and bedeviled
revealed yet unseen
A valid deception
blessed but obscene

The past and the future
hello and goodbye
Affirming rejection
— all truth to belie

Big Truths, Little Lies

I started with superheroes,
Which led me to memes
Then on to fan-art
With superhero themes.
I laughed at a squirrel
Dressed as Thor
I clicked for smiles
I clicked on for more.
My clicks led to quotes
And questions of the heart
And the superheroes faded
And introspection began to start.
Oh the joy of a costume
The bright colored lie
Just a few clicks away from
The truths they belie.

Smiling Belly Dancer

Smiling Belly Dancer ……..by Peter Onyancha

Belly dancer
You are another one!
Where do you mine your smile?
Beaming brackets, my my!
This is it, my spirit, speak it
Or belie – are you sly?
The tune is gone – but the charm!
The eyes grow with them and glow
You Smile and I blush –
How simply, you truly pinch me
Somewhere deep in the rib!
Look away, from my way
You bully belly dancer

Premium Member War Cry

World's troubles reflected in a dark sky
Days and nights now blurred fears quantify
My ears pick up artillery in war cry
Depression rolls in I try to deny
All my thoughts grow befuddled I belie
Tears held in so many puddles I cry
Emotions all muddled up in deep sighs
My eyes hollow my heart beats amplify
On divine intervention I rely!

I Hear

I hear the dull moans of a malignant class

as classes clash and drones drone on

 Electronic wizards wrack, whack, whack

merrily on their way to a zombie-like state.

Loathing lies and jumbo surprises belie

 aires, stares and convenient alignments

welding together a mangled mass of fluff

certain to shift us toward a boorish fall

                            of great proportions

Premium Member Unbridled Lust

Woman, so fancy fair of form
  You swivel sultry past me
O, how can I weather your storm

My temperature rises
  Heart pounding apace
I check my impulse au natural
To take up the siren chase

Like a caged lion, my insides rage
  Belie the placid countenance
Of a man of advancing age...

Then with a moan of unbridled lust
  For your body I lunge
As you dissolve into nothingness
  ~ Off night's bed have I plunged
